Invest in something better, good as a toy!
This instrument is very toy-like. The sound isn't awful, but it's definitely not up to par with something you would find at a music store. If you would spend just a little bit more money, you could get something that's in a completely different league. No, cheap ukuleles don't always sound terrible, but there are many reasons to just invest a bit more and get something in the $70-100 range, like a Kala, Luna, or Flight. If you are genuinely interested in playing and learning ukulele, you will progress quickly and realize that there are instruments that sound much better than this, and you will have wished you just saved and gotten one of them in the first place. A toy for your kids? This is fine for that.
