The Sonuus G2MÄ is a simple-to-use, highly effective, guitar-to-MIDI converter. It is Universal because it doesn't need a special pick-up mounted on your guitar, but instead simply connects to your guitar like any other effects pedal or tuner. Designed to give accurate triggering, with low-latency, it is a true plug-and-play solution for monophonic MIDI guitar. It can be used to sequence bass lines and guitar solos add an edge to your live performances: it opens up many creative possibilities at a price point not achieved before.

Terrific!
If you're an electric guitar player who has shied away from keyboards and synths do yourself a favour and get one of these little beauties. All you need is your favourite guitar , an amp, an old midi keyboard or synth module and one of these.I've tried it with an Akai Miniak analog synth and an old Roland MT-32 module and it works like a dream on both. The tracking is very very good especially for synth basses on the Miniak- just remember to pick cleanly and clearly and the synth will follow it exactly. It's monophonic but at this price for entry to guitar synthesis who's complaining.Very highly recommended!

Great idea, but perhaps more work is needed
I bought this based on various websites recommendations, including stuff on youtube and it seemed great so I jumped and bought one.I found it to have a slow response and also rather erratic in the sense that in general I managed to get MIDI out and drive a synth with it but it was difficult to play a tune, a melody accurately and I tried a guitar, and a microphone, singing with voice and also whistling.I tried to set up the unit as well as possible but the results were not satisfactory and I lost patience and returned the item. It is possible that with more tuning and twitching, finding the sweet spot, etc it might have worked better but for £50 I expect a device that works great out of the boxSo yes, I think the idea is great, I need such a device and for those who can make it work very quickly, before they give up, it may be a fantastic piece of kit, as I expected it to be

tracks very poorly
tracks poorly, will cause usb noise in your guitar chain if hooked up to a usb midi port. The signal going into the pedal requires a bit of tweaking (tone pot rolled off completely, a compressor and a very specific input volume or it'll spazz out on the tracking), don't even think about plugging it inline in your signal chain, your regular guitar clean sound will unlikely show this pedal the tones it needs to operate anywhere near efficiently.I later bought the Roland GK setup and I should have started saving up for that and not bought this.

Works out of the box - does exactly as says
This is monophonic so one note at a time please! - Used it with Ableton Live through a NI Audio interface (with midi port) - worked immediately. Dead easy - playing techniques needs to be adjusted a little (as it says in the instructions). A mildly used gadget that will get used in some demos. I didn't experience latency on my system and it suits some sounds better than others. But it works for sure. Not sure I would trust it live yet but maybe I need to perfect and experiment more with it. Early days and happy with it's ease. Great packaging, easy instructions and light. Could do with a clip maybe to clip to guitar strap or belt. it has a strap look (not sure why).
