Are these male female to make 1 connection or identical pieces and 2 males are also needed?

If these are Anderson Power Connector compliant, they are considered GENDERLESS. All pieces are they same, all pieces connect with each other. There is no "male/female" connector designation. Two pieces will connect to each other just fine.

what is the difference between Blue, Red and Gray if the are for 1 guage wire?

These type of connectors are color specific. Blue only mates to blue; gray to gray; etc. You can get these types of connectors with different terminals pins based on the wire gauge for your application.

I damaged one of the terminals when I crimped it. How can I get another one?

Its cheaper just to buy a new set If you go to NAPA auto they can probably replace the broken one, but it will cost more then if you just ordered another set. PS! Been there

Very good quality

Matched the Anderson connectors perfectly. I used them to relocate the battery for my backup generator into our heated utility room. Battery stays warm for optimum starting at subzero temperature. I used these instead of a battery disconnect switch for ease of installation. Looked at using the Generac battery heat pads but they turn on when temp drops to about freezing and turn off when temp gets into the 40 something deg f. I Wisconsin

Almost a perfect product, except the light colored plastic body.

Not much to say, and mostly positive.It's a tight fit getting 1ga copper welding cable in the ends, but it is doable.Used a hammer crimper I also bought on Amazon... That made the terminations awesomely reliable.Not a fan of light colored plastic on any product that can be exposed to the UV in sunlight, since that means I can expect the UV to rot the plastic and make it brittle faster than if the plastic were black or otherwise darker than what these are.My option is to use black heat shrink tube over the light blue plastic to shield it from UV exposure.Black ends would be nicer...

Not compatible with gray

As you can see in the photos, there is a bridge across the connection points on the blue plug. Due to this "bridge", the gray plugs will not plug into the blue ones. Just be aware. I didn't realize this before I purchased. I thought it was just a color preference.

Quality of the material

They are very good for the price we are going to use them on the back of our trucks for our jumper cables and winch's is we can just unplug the winch and plug jumper cables when we need them we also have one on the front for the same

Power plugs professional feel

I bought these to retro fit a set of jumper cables. The connectors need to be soldered in so any battery store can help. The connectors need to be inserted prior to the plugs actually plugging in to each other... good solid plugs for long term uses
