I got the wrong plant
I ordered 2 yellow grove bamboo plants and I received one yellow and one black. It was too much of a hassle to return the black one so I kept it. After repotting the plants in larger pots the yellow plant has doubled in size in less then a month. The black bamboo looks healthy but has only grown a few inches. Over all I'm happy with my purchase I just wish I got 2 yellow bamboo plants. I will order again but will ask to double check my order before they ship it.

The plant arrived alive
I got this Yellow Grove Bamboo, it was shipped and arrived in a timely manner. I thought it was a bit small, as the plant arrived with only one clum. The clum was as advertised between 1-2 ft tall. But the rhizome felt very small and would have fit in a smaller container. After a week the bamboo is still looking healthy and isn't showing any signs of shock. The plant is a good plant, but what i got for a 1 gal container plant was pretty small.

So far, so good.
This plant is invasive but spreads through the root system I have been told. I plan to exile it on the island in my pond....as the water level drops during the summer..it may drop down further...but spring rains will flood it and I'll check to see how deep it can survive.Within 5 minutes of delivery I transplanted into 10 gallon clay pot with lava rocks on bottom, perlite mixed with peat moss on top.Afterwards I watered daily.Today it has spread to 3 solid clumps that are about 3 feet tall....has been very healthy and green.. I will split this plant and put some on Island before winter..to see if it survives...but I'm taking some indoors to over-winter.I'll update next spring.

Yellow Grove Bamboo - Quick Arrival, Looks Healthy, Well Packaged
While yet to be planted, this bamboo arrived in a cardboard box in a pot with plastic wrapped around the pot and the soil moist. The plant has multiple shoots about a foot high and the leaves look healthy. Best of all, there was an enclosure with complete instructions on how to plant and care for the bamboo during the first years to get it established. The box had been damaged in shipment, but the bamboo and pot survived without any damage. This grower/seller did an excellent job and I highly recommend..

You can do better at a local nursery.
I received two plants. One of them as described another quite smaller. Ironically, the smaller of the two is doing fine, although it'll be years before it looks anything like what you see here. The larger was looking pretty poorly when it arrived and is all but dead now. Time will tell.Update... both plants are dead. However the weeds that came with them are thriving.

poorly packaged item
the bamboo was shipped with 2 in one package. the leaves from the plant met in the middle so the soil with roots were on either end of the package. the center was floppy and all bent up as a result and the stems were damaged. it's a shame the shipper could not come up with a better way to package the plants.
