These don't leak, but there is no internal pressure valve. Basically, if you are changing connections while still working, you need to go to the source and shut the water off, connect to another object, then go back to turn the water on. Otherwise, the water will just gush out as soon as you disconnect them. Basic plastic quick connects usually have a pressure valve so when you unplug the end, water will not rush out. I still kept this because the y adapter is useful and felt that returning them for the price I paid wasn't worth the time. I decided on buying cheaper plastic quick connects that include an external turn valve on the female connectors so I wouldn't have to fight the water pressure from the internal valve when plugging in another male end.Also, galvanic corrosion (I think that's the term) occurred between the end of the hose and the connect after just a couple days of having the female end attached. This is the other reason I went with plastic.

We had been using the Orbit brass quick connects and when I saw this price, I had to take a chance. I've had no problem interchanging the brass and aluminum parts. I have noticed that the aluminum parts have more corrosion after our fairly heavy use. The female part seems to stick and is sometimes hard to close because of this corrosion. It is still a good product for the price but if you are into heavy duty use, spend the extra money and get the Orbit all brass Quick Connects

They work, but are hard to get connected, and even harder to get them to disconnect. I've been using plastic equivalents for years, and wanted to try something more durable. These are durable, but it takes considerable force to get them to connect, and getting them apart again isn't easy...the collar you need to slide to release them doesn't like to slide. and it's hard to get a grip on, especially when wet.

Unlike many others that look just like this, the water flow doesn't shut off when you remove the connector. So you end up getting sprayed with water as you try to swap tools with the water turned on. Since one of the places I use this is far from the valve, I need this feature. I bought others that look the same at Walmart, and they do shut off the water automatically when you remove the connector.

I bought these thinking they would work with all the other Orbit brass fittings I have. They do not.They still work fine on their own, but they would be much more useful if they were a little more universal.

They worked great for a few months until they rusted and fell apart. Buy the plastic connectors if they are going to sit outside...

Quick connects just make using my hose much more enjoyable. Screw it on once and I'm done. This set works really well and included everything I needed. I liked it so much when I was looking to add more female connectors I bought it again to setup my other hose reel with the splitter. The price is just too good to beat since the couplings go for $5 alone each. I haven't had any leaks on either end of the connectors so far. And the action works smoothly to attach or remove the couplings.

Pretty good for the price. The knurled ring that grips the fitting to facilitate hand-tightening strips very easily, but isn't really necessary. Main thing is, no leaks.
