We’re Clipper Teas and we’re a different kind of tea company. It all started in Mike and Lorraine Brehme’s Dorset kitchen with two chests of finest quality Assam tea. The UK is a nation of tea drinkers, but Mike and Lorraine, who were master tasters, believed that people were being short changed, drinking cup after cup of poor quality tea. They wanted to share their love of great teas with everybody, but with the promise that every ingredient had been ethically sourced and naturally produced. Clipper has been an ethical business from the start. “It was always about how you want to make a living,” explained Mike. “I was in tea already, and I realized there was child labor involved and I thought, “That’s no way to make a living.” Because of Mike and Lorraine’s guiding principles, Clipper became involved with the Fairtrade Foundation in its earliest stages and policy development. We launched our very first Fairtrade tea in 1994 and in 2013; we are still the UK’s No 1 Fairtrade Tea Company. Our other guiding principle is of course, taste. We are in no doubt that our Fairtrade Everyday Tea is the best-tasting conventional tea you can buy – not just the best Fairtrade tea. Over the years we have introduced organic tea, coffee, green and white tea and some beautiful fruit and herbal infusions making sure everything we do is in line with the principles laid down by Mike Brehme in 1984:

Great Tea, but individually wrapped, 20 tiny teabags. Think Lipton style... stingy.
OK, I love this tea. It tastes amazing, so I refuse to give it the 1 star I'd like to because of the packaging.TL;DR: The product description should have said these are individually wrapped. "20-count" was the clue I didn't notice. So, I'm from England, and silly me assumed this was packaged the way Clipper Tea in England is packaged - 50 large teabags all together in a foil bag. Well, no - these are teensy tiny bags in individual wrappers. Not only does this give a much larger environmental footprint, you only get 20 teabags per box instead of 50, and each teabag has next to NO tea in it. If you like you tea like dishwater, awesome! If you like a real cuppa, one you can stand your spoon up in, don't bother - import from an expat site. You can of course use 3 teabags per cup (admittedly, I use big 20oz cups - it's fusion teamaking, American travel mugs meet English tea) and get only 6-10 cups out of the box, which I do, but yeah, not cheaper than an import of proper tea. Clipper tea with normal bags from England can cope with a 20oz brew without needing to double up at all. Sadly, this version just can't. End of story.

Excellent, tasty tea
I came across one box of this tea in a local Mexican grocery store (no kidding), bought it, and loved it. Never saw it again. I've read some accounts of people saying they've seen it at Big Lots (!) on occasion. Clipper's web site suggests they don't distribute in the USA at all. So finding more of this stuff was a bit of an obstacle course, at least until I checked Amazon.Anyway, it's my preferred Earl Grey. I disagree with one of the earlier reviewers that the bergamot flavor isn't that strong. To me, it is, but that could be individual variation in taste buds, y'know? I find it more noticeable than in other Earl Greys I've tried, I'll say that. Contrast that to Twinings, who claims to own the Earl Grey recipe, but whose Earl Grey tastes like plain black tea to me.One star off, not because of product quality, but because of having to order online instead of just picking it up at the store. C'mon, Clipper, get it in gear over here!

Nice clean chai tea,
First, I'm a vigorous coffee and tea drinker! However, tea is hard to enjoy in Socal, since weather, ambiance, water, and my lifestyle demand me to go for coffee rather than tea. Somehow tea I enjoyed in Europe gets weird when I brew it here- for instance, Twinning! Only tea that delivered as good quality as it's in Europe is Harrods' tea so far as I've tested. (about 5 years)I first encountered Clipper's when I was in France. I was delighted with their Earl Grey. However, at the moment, on Amazon it was out of stock. My second favorite flavored tea is Chai, so I thought Clipper's chai couldn't be bad. It indeed lets me enjoy organic tea experience- supreme clean flavor. It might be too clean for people who enjoy pungent tea flavor. But, there is no lingering fermented taste or strong tea flavor coming from outgrown leaves. The spices are not overwhelming, but very well balanced. So, if you want Chai that punches your palate and blocks your senses from outside world with their spice fragrances, this is not your tea. Go get Starbucks chai. If you want clean, smooth, and mild spicy in your tea, go for Clipper's Chai. This will please you dearly.

Tea is from South China, not from "the very best tea estates in Africa, India and Sri Lanka"
The product pictured and described is not what I received. I was looking for a tea NOT grown in China. But since that was not one of the areas mentioned in this ad: "All our teas are sourced from the very best tea estates in Africa, India and Sri Lanka" I expected that my tea was going to come from one of those places. Imagine my surprise when the Organic White Tea I received states that it is from South China. The box I received isn't that different from the one pictured so I didn't notice it at first. The only difference is that there is a small dragon on the front in place of the leaves that are shown. I contacted Amazon and they say they are replacing it with the tea shown and described in the ad. I'll updateUPDATE: The replacement tea Amazon sent is the one pictured. It does not specify where the tea is from but I am hoping it is as advertised. The tea is very good, but I am now skeptical about where it is actually grown.

Makes delicious iced tea!
I am an iced tea drinker and was an avid fan of Paradise Tea for over 25 years. But they were recently bought by conglomerate Sara Lee and now their tea is not the same. On a recent vacation, I made iced tea using the hotel's Eark Grey. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was! When I returned home, I tried a few different Organic Earl Grey teas. I actually found Clipper at Home Goods! It is THE BEST. I ordered a case of six in Amazon and haven't looked back. I make it every day and pour it over ice. It is so refreshing. I just love it. And love it even more because it's organic!

Sooooo good!
We discovered the Clipper brand while on holiday in England. Once we got back to the States, I couldn’t find another breakfast tea that I liked as much. I’m so glad I found this on Amazon!

Just Had My First Cup(pa)!!
First off, I don't claim to be a tea connoisseur, especially when it comes to black. I've tried cheap store brands, as well as PG Tip's. I have to say that out of them all, "Clipper" is by far the best!! The taste is not overpowering, it's very mellow and pleasant (and it didn't make my tongue feel overly dry)! It also didn't stuff my nose up (which could have been a possible chemical allergy to the other ones). The price was fantastic as well (a little over $2 a box)-- especially considering it's organic AND fair trade!!In conclusion I'm extremely impressed; and anxious to try more teas from this company!

I like to open my tea bags and smell the aroma ...
I agree with other reviewers that this tea is very weak. I bought the earl grey, and there is virtually no bergamot flavor to it. Frankly, there's not a lot of tea flavor at all. I like to open my tea bags and smell the aroma of the bag before I start steeping it. There is, again, virtually no aroma coming from these bags. I gave it three stars for being fair trade and organic, but I will definitely be buying a different brand next time.
