Bravo Express!: No Sugar - Oil - or Salt

Easy, delicious and healthy
Chef Bravo has written an easy to follow health promoting cookbook. I have made 8 batches of his immunity broth. I feel wonderful by midday. Check it out. I cook it in a pasta pot to reduce the need to strain the broth. Grace

Now I have to buy the paper version!
I didn't know much about chef Bravo, and I couldn't find a copy of either of his books in my local library, so I decided to go with the Kindle version of Bravo Express. I struggle with eating WFPB-no-SOS because I'm a busy guy, and this cookbook is so useful. Having become an instant fan, the introduction to the book worries me because Bravo makes it clear that creating simple, fast plant-based recipes for non-chefs isn't really his heart's desire. He'd rather be filling pages with fatty, meaty, salty haute cuisine and showing off his culinary skills. So, that leads me to believe that I can't count on him coming up with another collection like this. But finally, someone has explained how to saute without oil and the need for decent sauces and dressings that won't require I use every pan in the kitchen. One warning, his recipes are BIG portions and as a single person I have to reduce them (the hummus recipe takes three cans of chickpeas!). I wish he loved doing this as much as I love this book he's produced. I went with the Kindle version just in case I didn't like it, now I have to buy the book so I can wear it out.

Lacking content
Not worth the price. The book does a good job of explaining how to cook SOS. However, chances are if you ordered this, its bc you already knew of SOS and those portions of the book are redundant. As far as recipes, while what is in the book is helpful, it's sorely lacking content. 152pages.Content : there are 60 meal recipes, 11 snacks, and 21 dressing/sauce/etcs.Cons:Value - Less than 100 recipes, many using other recipes within the book. :(Plenty of blank space on most pages.Pro:Lots and lots of big, pretty pictures.Plenty of blank space [ for notes ] on most pages.

Good stuff
Thereโs A lot of preparation for an express cookbook. Many quick and good recipes to be found in it though.

Found a Lot of Recipes to Try
I read a lot of vegetarian/vegan cookbooks but I have rarely found one with so many recipes that look promising to try. Ideas for oil-free sauces and dressings. I wasn't overly impressed with the original Bravo cookbook but I really like this one.

Simple and delicious - buy it now!
Simple recipes, at most 7 easy to find ingredients. If you eat WFPB you'll have most of them. Just made two dressings (mango-ginger and strawberry balsamic), both done in 5 minutes. Delicious!Layout is simple, easy to find ingredients or recipes. Most recipes have pictures. Highly recommended! Thank you Chef Bravo!

Could be a 5 star book. Chef is on right track, but needs to address to viewers level.
This was my initial thought of this cookbook:Pictures are needed; green onions, scallions, shallots, leeks, which are which? Aso, there were ingredients I didn't recognize; pictures please. " Amounts " needed were difficult, for example, when 2 cups of beans were required - a can has 1 1/2 cups.Lemons, limes, or vinegar in most recipes, yuck.Coconut milk, full fat effect, that's loaded with saturated fat, isn't that unhealthy? This was the biggest No No - table of context didn't list recipes. Reader had to go into each chapter to search recipes. Same problem with Index.I wanted a tofu ranch style dressing. I never found one. The closest I found, which I accidentally came across, was a Creamy Tofu Sauce - it would have been easier to find if it was listed in the table of context. Also, it hard to find recipes with tofu.I will try a couple recipes, but I doubt I'll change my review, unless the book is restructured, pictures are added, and substitutes are listed to replace unusual vegetables I never hear of. Also, can I make kelp power or is it in the spice section of Asian store?
