OUTSTANDING AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I've done a lot of plumbing work over the years and this was the first time I used Sharkbite instead of copper and soldered fittings. No matter how careful I've been, I've had my share of leaking soldered fittings that had to be resoldered. I was skeptical at first, but after installing a house full of Sharkbite fittings, NOT ONE SINGLE LEAK! I"M SOLD FOREVER! I will never go back to copper and soldered fittings. They're a bit more expensive that standard copper fittings, but they are faster and easier to use so the time saved more than makes up for the slightly higher cost. I highly recommend using Sharkbite fittings and that's all I will ever use again.

Impressive!
It was stupid easy to install this ball valve. My process: I held up the ball valve to the copper pipe I was going to install it in. I made sharpie marks at either end of the center bulge. That's where I'd want the ends of the pipe to sit once the valve was installed. I cut the pipe on those sharpie marks using a close quarters pipe cutter. I then inserted either end firmly into the valve. I could feel them when they slid into the internal o-rings. Not quite a "snap", but you'll know they're in. That was it! Turned the water back on and played around with my newly installed ball valve!I did not de-burr the ends of the copper as you're probably supposed to. I suspect it's to stop any burrs from scraping the O-rings and ruining your seal. I examined the cuts my tool made, and they looked and felt smooth. I imagine you could probably use some fine sandpaper to accomplish the same thing. Never-the-less, I do have the Sharkbite deburr tool on order.I noticed that I can also swivel the valve around the pipe and it doesn't seem to affect the seal. No leaks so far. First time I've used a push-to-connect for plumbing. I'm sold!!

easy to use, doesn't leak
Long ago when I first tried using SharkBite connectors I had my doubts about them, I mean really a push on connector that won't leak? But it's true. I don't know how much easier doing plumbing can be. I've used the PEX copper ring crimp on connectors and in tight spaces getting the crimp tool in there can be difficult and even make poor crimps and have to redo them. With any SharkBite push to connect that isn't a problem. You simply push them on and job done with no leaks. I have some that are over ten years old and still no problems or leaks. I just installed a water softener system and had to remove a couple of the push on connector which was done using the SharkBite removal tool and was able to reuse those fitting... and still no leaks from them.

Shut the front tap!
I've been meaning (for 8 years now) to run a water line from our house into our attached garage. The main reason was for our fridge ice maker but I also wanted a hose access for those winter months. I finally decided to tackle the project. These are simply amazing. So easy to use and super fast. Once you prep your line properly, you simply push the line in the fitting, make sure it's seated all the way and Done! No more soldering. These are amazing especially for close quarters. Even if you mess up, you can simply remove them and fix your error.I have this one at the end of a temporary line that will go out the side of the garage this summer for an outside hose. (all the way to right of image) It's acting as cap right now but will be used to shut off the outside water during the winter months.Overall, these are a lifesaver. I know many people say these type of fittings don't last but I've seen homes that have had them for years with no leaks. I took a chance with these and I'm confident they will last a long time (hopefully forever). I highly recommend these especially if plumbing is not your thing.Pros:Super easy to installreusablesolid, no leaksfull brass fittingCons:costly compared to normal fittingscan only re-use so many times
