Excellent quality at a very reasonable cost!
After much research on which pillow would be the best match to my comfort and best neck support, I literally bought 7 buckwheat pillows from 5 different manufacturers of various sizes. I'm very happy that I finally found the best of the lot and this pillow, WheatDreamz by Bean Products Inc (20x26" standard size) landed on the top of the list for quality and price point. The buckwheat used is of high quality as the $98 one sold by a competitor for the same size. I'm sharing a picture of the filling compared to 2 other brands -- one grown in the US and one imported from China. The imported filler is toasted and light brown in comparison the most expensive pillow and Bean Products fillers. Yes, I did sift through them all to check any impurities and bugs ;) i did return one with flour beetles (?) on the cover (eeww).A reviewer posted that this is not as filled (maybe 1lb less) but note that that the more filled, the heavier it gets. It is also firmer and less contouring to your neck, shoulder and head giving it a very stiff and uncomfortable feel. Most of the manufacturers will have instructions to reduce the buckwheat to your comfort and preference. It is also good to note that the soft cotton pillow case actually helps absorb the crackling sound of shifting buckwheat. Thicker the cover, the studier but it also amplifies the sound as you move your head. I suffer from vertigo and tinnitus so this is very critical aspect to my selection too.Good luck and I hope this helps a fellow shopper and provide an unbiased insight for this company's product. Here's to success in your quest for pleasant sleep and quality rest!!

Good for your neck and for your sleep.
My wife and I both tend to have sore necks in the morning. A few years ago, we visited Japan, and had this type of pillow. Not long ago, I researched the options on Amazon. This particular brand is not the cheapest choice, but it's really scary to think of sleeping on buckwheat hulls that were fumigated on their way to this country. WheatDreamz says they're organic, and I note that there's not even a smell of buckwheat, just no smell to these pillows. We first bought one of these for my wife, in the Japanese (14"x20") size. The pillow is mostly filled with hulls, with enough free space to conform the pillow to one's head. We're talking firm bead-like objects here, not a fluffy down pillow. The difference is that once you lie down and get this configured (ideally, your spine in a straight line), these hulls stay where they are. The down gradually lets your head sink further down and results in neck pain. The first one we bought had free Prime shipping. (yay!). After I tried my wife's pillow for a couple of naps and one night (and she woke up with a sore neck that morning), I bought a second one, even though it was about $10 more due to the company now charging shipping. I'm very happy with the purchase. I'd suggest that, unless you need a big pillow for looks when the bed is made, the Japanese size is fine, with more than enough room for your head. If the pillow is too full for your preference, you can remove some of the hulls. I'm glad we got these.

Back to Sweet Dreams!
I've been sleeping on buckwheat pillows for 20 years. I find they really help me sleep better (all of my stress ends up in my neck/shoulders and buckwheat supports my head). My old buckwheat pillows were flattening out, so I figured it was time to purchase new ones (I buy fiberfill pillows for everyone else annually, so getting 20 years out of buckwheat seemed like I more than got my money's worth). These Wheat Dreamz Buckwheat Pillows are BIG pillows (standard size) and HEAVY (no pillow fights or someone will end up in the ER!). The pillows were clean and came sealed in plastic. They have a lot of buckwheat in them, and some people may need to take some out. There is a zipper on the pillow and you can remove buckwheat hulls if the pillow is too big. Compared to the prices of other buckwheat pillows, these are a bargain. And I love that they are organic. They do have a slight odor of buckwheat (which will air out in a while). I put mine in zippered cotton pillow protectors and then in cotton pillow cases. If you are not used to buckwheat, it will take some time to get used to as the pillow is hard and it does make noise if you move your head or toss/turn. The pillow stays cool (unlike memory foam that heat up). The pillow supports your head and neck and I'm back to sweet dreams.

I love this pillow!!!
I love this pillow. I have always had an issues with pillows since I am a terrible sleeper. I tend to bunch my pillows up in my sleep and wake up with a sore neck and shoulder. I tried all kinds of pillow and had difficulty finding one that let me sleep comfortably and wake up pain free. When someone told me about this pillow, I figured it was too good to be true. I LOVE THIS PILLOW!!! I am so happy that I bought it. When I first took it out of the packaging, I was worried because it was heavy and I thought it would be like sleeping on a brick but it is the most comfortable pillow I have ever used. It stays flat but once you adjust your neck and head to your comfort, it actually stays that way until you move. It cradles your head and neck and gives you plenty of support. I never would have believed that I could be comfortable with only one pillow (i usually sleep with two for extra support) but it is comfortable. There is a little noise when you shift and move but it is not an issue like the other reviews say. There is no smell or any other negative issue that I can find. I am a fan but unfortunately my husband is not. I bought one for him as well and he doesn't like it. He sleeps with this pillow on the bottom and two others on top of it, which defeats the purpose. I guess, it's personal preference. Along with my chiropractic visits and this pillow I am finally almost pain free when I wake up. I haven't felt that way in a long time.

Adjustable, Cool, coutouring
This pillow is firm, but contours exactly to your shape. You can take out some of the husks to adjust the height, It's cool and breaths very well. The only comparison I can describe is a adjustable air pillow, or water pillow. The pillow is much smaller than most north american pillows though about half the size.

Too firm
Excellent quality but this type of Pillow is too firm for me and gives me a slight headache. I tried it for a full week to make sure I was not just having a restless sleep.

Good product!
Love it. It is comfy and provides good support. It doesn't make you sweat either. It's a little small but serves the purpose well enough.

Everyone should have one!
I love this pillow!! Exactly what I needed. I will say that it is extremely heavy for a pillow but other than that, it’s the best. I put it behind my back while watching tv - no more pain!

I cannot sleep without this pillow now. It does ...
I cannot sleep without this pillow now. It does take time to get use to as it is far different than any other pillow.
