The Sewing Machine Quick Guide Paperback – October 30, 2013

This book was clear and comprehensive. It covered just about every type of sewing machine (except the Serger). My machine is early 1960s Sears Kenmore that weighs a ton. I understand it much better and am not afraid to do the oiling and care it needs. Often I have thought of buying a new one, one with fancy stitches and all the bells and whistles. After this book, I decided to remain loyal to my Kenmore and make it function the way it was made to function. I thank the author for this book.

Do not use it everyday, and know much of it already BUT this guidebook refreshes my memory, problem solves, outlines issues to consider. Like the book, and glad to add it to my collection.

Very handy reference for sewing machines. Not brand specific but very useful for the basics.

When I needed to adjust my running clothes I started with this book. It gave me a head start of understanding te basics of machine sewing and how to handle difficult fabrics like ultra-flexible synthetics.The basic writing style and the machine maintenance part will appeal to more men like me. It helped me choose what machine to buy (a mechanical one).It is also a perfect reference guide.

Very good guide

Nice overview - not a lot of in depth information but worth it for covering so much basic information. After learning all of this, you should not need to pay for a lot of maintenance.

What a great sewing machine guide! I have two Kenmore sewing machines from the early/mid 70's (made in Japan,) and this guide has helped my husband and I do some repairs to them.... Thank you, Clifford, for putting so much effort into your research!
