The Fossil Kindle Edition

Am a voracious and demanding fiction reader.This novella has Great characters, VERY original concept and plot.So it's not Pulitzer Literature; but what a RIDE.Better than a lot from Asimov and Clarke.Cruel not have written a full book or series on this.I'm begging for more.

Very interesting book, short, weird and action packed. Funny in a way from the different perspective of the little aliens and the defense guys. Could be a good concept for some type of temporal war between the monst and these little people... Thanks for a GoodRead.

It felt like the story was rushed. There were sections that seemed a bit jumbled. The story could have used more development. AS another reviewer commented, had I known how short it was, I probably would not have bought it. Kindle was offering the book for free and I chose to buy it as previous novels by this author had been much longer. If you have the opportunity to get it for Free, do that.

I like the author and have bought most of his previous books. I thought that I was buying a complete book, but unfortunately the book is only 125 pages long. If I knew it was so short I would not have purchased it.

I’ll be honest I thought the picture was some cyborg has the cover art is abit misleading but it made my reading of the story even better has didn’t know what I was getting my self into.P.S.I hope you write a sequel has I really want to know if the Ex-detective catches his little murders leprechaun’s.

Man, that was a short drawn out book that went no where real fast.The author or Amazon owes anyone who actually paid for the book and stuck with it for the whole length a serious apology!!!We are talking a convoluted mess that goes no where fast but suddenly ends with so many loose ends you aren’t sure what happened…

Fast paced and exciting. I enjoyed the characters and the entire storyline. Archeological digs, sci fi, mystery, time travel, all wrapped neatly.My only complaint is that this is a novella. It’s a short story. I wish the story was longer. I was sad when I finished the book. Thoroughly enjoyable, but would have liked the story expanded into a larger book. I think the originality of the story and it’s premise could easily have been a much larger story.Short, but great read!

You will never find a detective story quite like this one. Time travel ,an ancient fossil and bizarre murders all mix together in a novella you won't want to miss.

I have read most of Beck's Alex Hunter books and really enjoyed the thrill of the tale. I did get a bit 'disappointed' with his story of Hell as it did seem just too unbelievable but it was still a well written story. I found myself unwilling to believe Fossil was written by Beck as to me it was just a silly book by an amateur. Ridiculous plot and futuristic mini men fighting their giant foes from a few hundred years previously??? I certainly won't be reading any more books by Beck if this is the best he can do. I gave it a one star because you have to score something but its not worth that.

I am loving the current flow of pulpy Sci-Fi/monster fiction that we are seeing at the moment, and Greig Beck's The Fossil is no exception. it's a great tale with interesting characters and a hint of mystery that leaves you wanting to know more. I certainly hope Greig writes a sequel exploring the small tantalising peaks into other timelines he presents us with in The Fossil. That is not to say this novella is incomplete, the complete story is there for the casual reader. I just want to explore the wider elements from the story.

So disappointed with this book. The writing seemed disjointed. Don’t bother spending money on this. Such disappointment...

Once you start you want put the book down until you have read to the end!A fabulous story with a pice of everything from the other series made into a marvellous non stop action story that I loved reading!!
