Mediterranean Gourmet Ground Cumin, 16 Ounce

The cumin I received is good quality. My complaint is that it arrives in a plastic bag, not the nice plastic container that's shown.

Recently I purchased some taco seasoning. It was a famous name brand but it was awful even with ground steak, it just didn't taste right. I noted there was not enough cumin in it. I decided to just get some cumin, fresh tomatoes, sweet onions, etc. and make my own. If you use this spice a lot, or for me at least, it takes a lot of this spice to be enough. So, I got a larger 16 ounce size. I am giving it a four because the picture shows it in a nice white container jar. It actually comes in a plastic sealed envelope. This doesn't effect the product I guess, but I consider the envelopes sort of cheap and messy, especially the larger ones. You have to go out and find a container, if you don't have one. So, that's just an aside issue. Otherwise, good product and price. Also, having lots of cumin around in winter can help your body fight colds.

Flavor is VERY generic. Granted, there IS a pound of it. I've gotten to where I offer to refill neighbors empty containers just so I can use it up. Not at all comparable to McCormicks. Still can't beat the price for a pound.If I owned a restaurant, I would buy again. I will not be making a second purchase of this product.

The packaging on this is not thrilling, and reminds me of a back alley Mexican market... not bad, just utilitarian. I had some more "upscale" roasted cumin in a bottle and compared the smell and taste of the two and they were very similar, though. So, I'm happy with this - price it right and it seems to be good quality.

Cumin smells so good! And tastes great, like what you buy in stores in the small bottle. It came , however in a plastic bag, not the jar shown. That is why 4 stars instead of five. I will buy again.Not soon, though because it is alot!

It comes in a plastic bag. THE PICTURE IS A LIE! The cumin is OK, but you need to find a bottle or canister to store it in. What a ripoff! So now I have to find something to store it in? Well, thanks, AMAZON.

The flavor of this cumin is comparable to any major spice brand and for a *much* cheaper price. The only reason for 4 stars is the slightly rough grind, it doesn't bother me, but I could see some people being bothered by it not being perfectly smooth.
