Kester 83-7068-1402 SN96.5 / AG03 / CU.5 Lead Free Solder Pocket Pak, 0.031" Diameter, 0.43 oz.

An electrical engineer friend of mine recommended a no-clean lead-free Kester solder. The activated rosin of this solder may not be appropriate for all applications, but I am a simple beginner hobbyist in electronics, and this performs well.I have been happy with the wetting and flow of this solder, so much so that I have purchased a 1lb spool to save money over the long term. I'll probably refill the tube because I find it a convenient way to hold and feed from the center hole of the cap. I found the Kester 951 Flux Pen to pair well with this solder to produce good joints. I took one star off value only because at less than 0.5 oz, it becomes far more economical to buy a 1lb spool.

Simple to use. No problems at all.

I've been using Kester 44 67/37 Tin/Lead because it works so well. My experience is that lead solder works the best. However, I do end up breathing in a little solder smoke, which means I'm probably breathing in traces of lead. I've been searching for a lead free solder that actually works and I think this is it! It seems to have all of the best characteristics of my Kester lead solder without the lead! Nice! There isn't much solder in these small packs, but this type of packaging is convenient for the occasional electronics soldering that I do.I am very happy that I found this solder. I think it will be my new go to solder.

lead free SILVER solder at a good price in a convenient pack. Still, I think I could make better joints if the container payed me personal compliments when I opened it.

I prefer using leaded solder, but this is some great lead-free! It's doesn't *quite* flow as well as leaded, but it's some of the best lead-free I've come across. The tube it comes in is nice and handy, fits in the pocket or inside a toolbox organizer easily. Overall it's great, you get what you pay for!

For lead free, this is about as good as it gets. Small pack is handy if you don't do a lot of lead-free soldering. Have used other brands of solder with mixed results. Kester solder is a consistent and professional product. Never had an issue with Kester solder. It is not worth going cheaper for the headaches.

As an Electrical Engineer for 40 years it's clear this is good quality product, strong, good flow, shiny, no bubbles or corrosion. No fear, great size for portable tool bag.

Total noob when it comes to soldering, but I had no trouble using this with the Pinecil to solder headers on to various Adafruit and Rpi parts.
