BEST OUT THERE… (detailed review)
Well done Bklyn Steel! I’m an avid soup lover and have too many thermoses to admit to. Thought I’d treat myself to a new thermos and found this bad-boy on Amazon. Visually I liked the look so I thought I’d give it a try. SO GLAD I DID! It looks even better in person and it retains heat really well. I’m pretty sure it hold the heat better than the others brands I use. I have not tried it for cold drinks or foods yet so I can’t comment on that. I imagine it would work just as well if used for iced coffee or chilled fruit etc. I’ll try it as a “mini cooler” when packing for the beach and will try to update this review. There are no issues with this thermos leaking; and you do not need to travel with it in the upright position. I travel with mine horizontal in my work bag and no leakage. As for aesthetics, I’d be shocked if you don’t get compliments on this thing. Simply put, it’s a good looking product that works as advertised. You can’t tell from the pictures, but the cap is not real wood. I imagine this is so it doesn’t warp with hot items. The wood grain design is some kind of silk screening (I think) and has a “velvety soft” texture feel to it. Surprisingly, this became one of my favorite parts of this thermos. For new thermos users; below is the best way to use this – or any other thermos you buy.INSTRUCTIONS:Heat up the thermos before putting your food in it.This is the trick to keeping your food hot for hours.I use Boiling Water to pre-heat my thermos. Keep in mind the hotter you pre-heat your thermos the hotter your food will be when you (or your kids) eat lunch. I fill up my thermos with water, and then pour it into a pot. Since you’re not boiling a large pot of water it comes to a boil fairly quick. If you prefer to boil your water in a microwave, be sure to use a MICROWAVE SAFE CONTAINER. NOT IN YOUR THERMOS. Then pour the hot water in your thermos and gently close the lid to keep all the heat in. Wait 15 minutes. By the time I get my lunch nice and hot and get ready to head out to work it’s at least 15 minutes for me (sometimes longer since I’m in slow-motion prior to my coffee… haha). This process heats up the inside of your thermos. After you pour out the hot water and put your hot soup or food inside close the lid. You don’t need to close it real tight. A snug close works best. When using a stainless steel thermos (recommended) the metal will slowly expand due to the heat making the lid slightly tighter over time. Best to go with a snug closure; don’t worry this thing won’t leak on you.CLEANING:There is a black rim that covers the top of the stainless steel (the part your mouth would touch if you drank straight from the thermos). SEE ATTACHED PHOTO. Remove that part and hand wash your thermos, the black rim and the lid with warm soapy water. Air dry. The packaging says its “top-rack dishwasher safe” but I don’t want to risk it and I recommend hand washing. In my past experience, over time a dishwasher can ruin a thermos – I don’t want to risk it with this product or any of my other thermoses for that matter. It’s an “easy clean” by hand.PICS:I posted a pic explaining the black removable rim because I did not realize this was removable at first. This product seems to work with or without the back rim. My personal preference is to keep it on. If you drink your soup to the last drop like I do your mouth doesn’t touch metal. It’s a well thought out product design. It’s surprising that other manufacturers don’t do this. I think they’ll catch on with time and most thermoses will have this feature soon.CONCLUSION:LOVE THIS THERMOS!!!!!

Beautiful and durable jar
Bought this jar in 2018, returned it after it didn’t keep my food warm. The seller was very helpful and promptly gave me another one to try out. It worked great! I work in a hospital and like to take my own food, not always having a microwave at hand I’ve found this jar to be excellent for my needs..it holds a good amount of food for 1 person and looks amazing. Thank you!!They also have a new bigger size that the seller kindly sent for us to try, I use it mostly for coffee and couldn’t be happier with it, so sturdy. Thank you for making such a great product and for an awesome customer service! Merry Christmas!

This one is a winner!
I bought this for my daughter's school lunches to keep soups warm. I wasn't expecting much from any type of thermos because all the food seems to come out at room temperature when finally eaten, but this one is a winner. My daughter's soups stay hot until she eats lunch. That's 5 hours being in the thermos. She said her soup is still hot enough to burn her tongue when she opens it.I don't know if it makes any difference, but we do boil water and pour it in the thermos and let it sit for about 15 minutes before we put her soup in it. Also, we don't microwave her soup. We also heat that up on the stove. So boiling water for 15 minutes, then we pour in the boiling soup. Stays piping hot until she gets to lunch time. We've also never had any problems with dents or leakage and my daughter is pretty rough with her backpack.

My favorite thermos!
I was originally using this for coffee only. But recently I've been able to put my soups and my hot food in there and have it stay hot for a while. The spoon that's included isn't really the best so i suggest getting another spoon that you can use for this thermos. As for having it on my minimalist style desk, it's really stylish and adds to the look that i'm really going for. All in all, would recommend to anyone that wants a solid and good looking thermos. Constantly getting asked where i got this from!

It stays HOT!
So I've got an 11 year old daughter. I'm a Dad... a 59 year old Dad. And I make the food around here. My wife (bless her heart), can't fathom "cooking". Just want to say that I make my daughter's lunch every single day. And this Bklynfood jar is freakin great. Stays hot longer than the 4 others brands I've tried over the years. Plus I messed up and lost the plastic O Ring that seals the thing... These guys sent one ASAP. It was MY fault and yet they helped me out. In an age where one seems adrift among retailers who don't give a sh$t... these guys rock.

Coolly designed sleek and efficient thermos!
I am impressed by the sleek and lightweight design. Very cool design and esthetic. I liked it so much I bought 2 more. Two large ones are used for school lunches and one medium one is used for hot tea. The large ones have great capacity for adult-sized portions but are not bulky in already overfilled backpacks. They have kept hot lunches warm from morning to the after school. Hot beverages have kept from boiling hot to nicely warm after 12 hours. None have leaked even with liquids tossed around in kids bags. No issues opening them due to accumulated pressure. My design input would be to fix the design of the removeable inner plastic rim with the rubber gasket. It can retain a bit of water and make the thermos "appear" to be leaking. My only nit is that one dented when droppped by my kids the first week. No spills so that's good.

No Microwave. No Problem!
I don’t like using microwaves; besides the one in the office is nasty. I was looking for a way to have a hot lunch without bringing a plug-in hotpot to the office as they are not allowed. I wasn’t sure if this would work. YES!!! It works!!! Wish I would have tried this out years ago. I heat up my thermos before I leave for work with boiling water, let sit for around 10 minutes (give or take) and then fill it with my hearty homemade soup. It’s so nice to have a hot lunch in the office! I highly recommend!!

Nice design, just too small for what I needed
A lot smaller than expected (I don't have a good grasp of volume!) but it is neat and so far has kept food warm. I had intended to use it to keep dinner warm for dinner parties but I think it's really meant to keep lunch bags warm.

It’s is normal container it can not keep the food or soup warm.
I don’t like it. It’s not good for keeping the food warm. I use it for a month and I disappointed.

Lasted 3 months
This is an update to my previous review. It only lasted 3 months and I took the effort of hand washing every time to make sure it lasted. The lid feel off and the glue is now exposed. The food is also not keeping warm as before but rather a luke warm that doesn’t meet safety standards. Short lived.——-Finally one thermos that works. I needed it for my kid to bring to school and all the children’s ones including Thermos brand would keep warm for a couple or maybe three hours, no more. This one keeps for 5ish. Not a miracle but enough for morning to lunch time. Worth it.

Not impressed
Not impressed, food is barely warm by lunch time even though it was preheated and kept in a insulated lunch kit in a warm vehicle.
