Great moxa, great price, great feeling.
I am not a trained physician of Chinese medicine, but I have a little knowledge of the practice and know my basic needs pretty well. I have been using moxibustion a few times a week on myself and my wife, for general well being. This kit is great because it's something you can do by yourself or with the help of another. It's very relaxing and I feel a significant difference before and after using moxa. It's a great alternative to going to get acupuncture done because it's very cost effective, and if you know what you need help with, you don't need any expert opinion. The biggest bonus honestly is that there are no needles. The amount of moxa you get for the price is great, so definitely take advantage of the 120 piece set. Most treatments take 3 or more months to complete, so having 120 should keep you set if you're doing it a few times a week like you should. The kit comes with a guide of a few points you can use for headaches, PMS, nausea and general relaxation, but I would also recommend getting a good acupuncture book like "The 5 Elements of Self-Healing" to know a few more points that are good for your emotional well being as well. Moxibustion is a great way to treat various kinds of stress, depression, anxiety and more, but it's important you know what points can help you with that, for your personality type and individual health concerns. Also, a few things to know before you use them. When you remove them, they usually leave a little green circle of oil. It's harmless and it's not a bruise or other skin ailment, it's the oil from the herb used (mugwort). It comes off easily, but don't try and wipe it off immediately because it'll just smear. Just leave the dot and if it really bugs you wash it off a few hours later. The way I recommend beginning your use of the kit, is to figure out what points you want to work on, and mark them with a little dot or x. Then, get a candle (any kind) and light it. Next, attach a moxa stick to one of the sticky brown cups, but do not peel the back off. Using the candle, hold the top of the moxa stick with the cup attached over the candle's flame until it turns white on top or it ignites. If you have the lights off, you should see it glowing faintly red, almost like a cigarette. Once the moxa is clearly lit, peel the cover off the sticky back and place it directly over a mark you drew. If you're worried about getting ash on yourself (it's not hot or dangerous, just a little messy) just put one of the black cones in the kit on your brown moxa cup and that will keep it from spilling. Let it burn until it fully extinguishes, you can either do it again, or not.You may want to have a candle lighter handy in case one extinguishes (they rarely do, but it happens sometimes if you have a fan on or a window open), just to get it ignited again. It's really simple, and I figured out all this on my own. Take your time. Read the instructions. Do some homework and you'll discover why Chinese medicine is such a celebrated practice.Enjoy, and feel better!

Great moxa, but improvement needed to reduce the waste
I like the moxa a lot. I am planning on ordering more. I like the design and the heat is very comfortable. The only issue is that it seems a lot of waste to throw away the bases each time. I used one base multi times and they are still good for re-use. The cost is one aspect the more important thing is the environmental impact of the unnecessary waste. I would suggest that the base and moxa can be purchased separately to give customers choice on not buying that many bases. If you burn 3 cones of moxa at one acu-point definitely one base is enough.

Good as before
This product is as good as the 60 count ones, except you have to attach the stick to the base yourself, but you get a significant discount for your trouble plus five reusable covers per box. The plastic box it comes with is reusable also, so I just use the empty one to hold my assembled sticks. I don't feel there's any extra hassle since I could assemble them while waiting anyway. Overall good as advertised.

Low quality moxa - burns too fast, not a good value
After I had a treatment with my acupuncturist, I bought these to use for myself. These sticks burned through in less than 5 minutes, compared to 10-12 minutes for the ones my acupuncturist uses. It hardly gets warm and smokes like crazy. My acupuncturist says these are low quality and that's why they burn through so quickly.

Good medicine
I was referred by an acupuncturist to use this product. I must say it works wonders. Super easy to use. Takes time to light.

Burns too fast and no heat!! Very disappointed
Complete waste. The sticks burn down in 2 min. and there is absolutely no heat. All I can think of to salvage some of this kit is to use the bases but buy different moxa sticks.
