Beats my all time favorite!
Like many of the reviewers I purchased this salt after watching and reading Samin Nosrats Salt Fat Acid Heat.I compared it to my all time favorite salt and that is where the quality really became apparent.I have reviewed salts before and have previously declared Murray River Australian Pink Salt the most Umami rich salt out of all of the dozens of salts I have tried (I tried them all simultaneously, I might add - there are no limits to my obsessiveness and dedication when it comes to ingredients) You can go to my profile and check my reviews if you would like to learn more about my ingredient explorations in more detail.Amabito no Moshio is quite intensely salty with a tangy yet well rounded finish. Somehow, the tangy saltiness is tempered with a softness and fullness on the tongue (I know, I know that sounds ridiculously hoity-toity but I'm trying to describe a taste in text form here, so shhh)I compared it to my beloved Murray River salt and in comparion, that Australian salt tasted less tangy, and, well, I admit it.....metallic! Shock Horror!I am probably going to try to pretend I didn't discover that, as I have a huge jar of Murray River salt in my pantry, and have waxed lyrical over it on more than one occasion, but the Amabito no Moshio wins in the flavor department. I do like the Murray River flakes, as some recipes cry out for that flaky crunchiness. but I am not going to be able to ignore the fact that I have found a superior tasting salt. Far superior to any other fine salt I have tried. I am sure that the metallic quality of the Murray River salt would not be apparent unless you were eating first one, and then the other. And even I struggled with doing that. My Murray River salt will do for all flake salt purposes (unless Samin has a recommendation for a superior flake salt?) and I will use the Amabito no Moshio for all of my fine salt requirements. It is wonderful, and those who think it isn't, well, they just arent as dedicated as I am - get out all of your salts and start chomping down like I did, Amabito no Moshio naysayers! The differences will then become all too apparent. I am quite sure it will displace your other favorite salt from its pedestal (sorry Murray, but you just aren't my favourite anymore)Samin, you weren't wrong, and I salute you!

Spoon not as displayed. Fake?
It was advertised that a limited spoon set confirms its authenticity. The spoon I received is just a basic plain spoon. No logo as displayed in the pic. I feel tricked and now I have concerns that the product I received isnt legit.

If you are a bit of a foodie, this is a salt to try. It is so well balanced and rounded.
I bought this product(Amabito no Moshio 100g with YUMERIA Original Spoon Set, Hondawara, Seaweed Salt, Made in Japan) after seeing it being featured on Samin Nosrats documentary SALT, FAT, ACID, HEAT. and it lived up to expectations. Its a beautifully rounded salt without any harsh elements in the flavor. I would definitely buy this product again and recommend it to cooks and foodies out there.

A little goes a long way.
This salt was purely exquisite, the umami tones that it brings out of the food itself is incredible. Earthy and light on the tongue it will be wonderful on any food.

Spoon is not included
I have to admit I was disappointed as I specifically bought this brand because it included the spoon. But alas, not spoon!
