Hi-Line Gift Ltd Crawling Hedgehog Statue,Tan

My hedgehog arrived today, and he is just as adorable in person as in the photos. I think from a distance, a lot of people would believe him to be real. His colouring and his shiny expressive eyes make him look as real and animated as any flesh and blood animal. He has and almost smiling expression an looks as though he is investigating you.He is very detailed but also lightweight. He is low to the ground, though, so I would not worry about wind knocking him over in the garden unless it was very strong wind as in a bad storm. If you leave him in the garden, you would do best to bring him indoors in inclement weather, and definitely let him over Winter indoors. This is resin, and it breaks as easily as porcelain if it hits the ground even if only from a couple of feet up, so I would be very careful of the spot you choose to place him. Real hedgehogs are not quite this large, but he is a good display size in the garden. A true life sized hedgehog would not be easily noticed in a garden. This little chap is large enough to be noticed.I have one complaint, and that is the same complaint I have had about several purchases recently--Quality Control. As soon as I removed him from his packing, I thought "how adorable! he looks just like the photos!" Then, I noticed his nose was noticeably flawed. His nose is very realistically painted dark brown and then black around the edges just like a real animal's nose would be. However, his nose has a colour flaw. There are a couple of spots on the left side of his nose where either the paint was missed or the wrong colour brushed off on him--probably the latter. The colour of these spots is more like the colour of his chest, a sort of yellowish brown.As his ONLY JOB is to look adorable wherever he is placed, this is a significant flaw because it is right on his nose, and you cannot miss it. I was very disappointed and disgusted because this sort of thing is happening too often anymore. If he only cost $8-$10 I would not complain too loudly, but this little chap is over $38 with tax, and as he is resin and not high quality porcelain, for $38+ he should not have any flaws.In any case, apart from his flawed nose, he is just about the most adorable little critter you can have around the house or in the garden. He has expressive eyes, and he is very detailed even down to the tiny little claws on his little toes. For this, I could not be more tickled and pleased with him.I have a suggestion for anyone who plans to use him outdoors or use him indoors where he will receive a good bit of natural light, and that is to treat him with Krylon Clear UV Protectorant. It comes in Gloss, Satin, and Matte finishes. I prefer the Satin because it has a tiny bit of sheen but is not glassy-glossy looking. Follow the directions, and apply it 3X to whatever you want to protect, and your colours will remain bright and new looking year after year. Just remember to retreat your items once per year to keep the protection strong. I treated a lot of silk flowers with this Krylon and left them in the direct western sun all season last Summer, and they never faded at all. They look as good as the day I bought them! I love this UV protectorant! Krylon is the best at this sort of UV protection. ***Note: I am in no way affiliated with Krylon.**** I only mention this to help others to protect their investment in decorative items from harmful UV light.I swear, this little chap is so cute that I want to cuddle him! I think you will be very pleased if you buy one. I hope yours comes without any flaws.NOTE: I am not going to take off a star for the flawed nose on mine, but I sincerely hope the maker will read this review and take my advice to make sure the others s/he sells do not have any flaws because that is so disappointing in a brand new, rather expensive item that the buyer awaited with such excitement. It is a very deflating experience to receive a flawed piece.Overall: Recommend this adorable little hedgehog. He is very gift-able and too cute for words. I almost want to keep him indoors with me where I can see him every morning upon awaking and every evening before retiring. He is that cute and that sweet! Place him in a believable spot somewhere and allow a visitor to spy him from a few feet away, and I promise you upon first glance, your visitor will likely think he is real. He has so much personality that I think I shall have to name him. :)

Granddaughter loves this for her garden area. It is actually a little bit spiky, just like a live hedgehog. I’m going to get the other ones for her soon. There’s nothing like a big grandkid smile.

This little guy is my second hedgehog statue, he looks so real like the one in England, I bought these because the price of hedgehog in my area of kansas are over 2 hundred or more dollars so I won't be getting any more live one.

We have seen on our cameras several delivery people react as if it was alive when they first see it while making a delivery.

This hedgehog is honestly so much more than I was expecting! I was super hesitant to purchase but I am so happy I did! I am a photographer and purchased this to use in a hedgehog themed birthday set for a first birthday cake smash. This Hedgehog is so realistic I am SO excited to photograph it and the additional ones I purchased from this company. I will update with my official images once the session happens in April but for now here is a cell phone image. Such stunning quality, so realistic and very large! Definitely worth the money!

This statue is lifelike and very well made. It is the perfect weight. I have had several compliments on it. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Beautifully crafted! Very realistic. It actually scared my husband when he first saw it on our porch! He thought it was real. A little bigger than I thought it would be, but that’s ok. Still super cute!

Perfect for my garden! It's new right now, so we'll see how it looks after the summer, whether it fades very much, too early to tell right now.
