This book has saved my life
I wanted to stop taking Lansoprosol 30 mg as I was not happy taking them and I still had acid reflux. I looked at many sites but they were all American and I wanted to buy something that I could get in Great Britain. I went on Amazon and I saw this book, thinking it was an English doctor who had written it, no offence to our American comrades. Well I read the book and as I had been on antibiotics for 30 years for bronchitus I had the most terrifying gastro problems. Two years of shear hell and the doctors could not find what was causing them. They kept telling me my symptoms did not correspond with the results. I did eventually find out that it was the antibiotic Doxycyclyne which I had been on for 30 years was causing me to cough up blood, stay up hour at night with breathtaking pain and unable to eat hardly anything.I was aware of the fungus Candida Albican and told the doctors that this might be the cause due to taking so many antibiotics, they would not hear of this and told me it could not have any effect. However, that God, I found this book, I read it took in all the information, bought the tablets and capsules suggested, cut our sugar and yeast and you know I am now a new woman. Each day I am feeling better, from being not able to clean my own house I have decorated a bedroom and my energy levels are so good. I cut out the Lansoprosol all together, if I have a blip I do take a 75 mg Zantac now and again but I am definetly so much better. I would like to thank the author with all my heart for this sensible and life saving book, good old America for having such a sensible and honest person to help me.

Worth its weight in gold
Having been put on acid blockers in 2000 and having suffered extreme side effects which my doctor, over the years, virtually told me the problems were all in my head! I found this book and read it and re-read it and still am reading it and all my problems with acid blockers have been made so clear. This book should be required reading for anyone who is prescribed acid blockers as it is full of common sense and has given me the courage to give up the Omeprazole and Nexium and I can fully recommend it.

Required reading for those on acid blockers
This book is scary reading if you have been on acid blocking drugs for any length of time, but ignorance is NOT bliss when it comes to your health. This book is honest, well researched and informative, and stresses the importance of getting a clear diagnosis of digestive problems before putting the relevant advice into practice. The alternatives to the conventional medical profession's "cookie cutter" approach are explained in detail and offer hope for those suffering from all manner of digestive complaints. Thank you, Martie Whittekin!

Great book. I have been on ppi's for just under two years and my dependency was becoming greater. This book gave me the knowledge and confidence to come off the drugs. I have been off for a month now and via the help of DGL as recommended in the book everything is going well.If you are on PPI's and looking for a way out this is s great place to start. It offers insightful information around symptoms and possible causes but also remedies.

Very interesting
A must read if you suffer from indigestion or bloating. However it is American, so some of the medications and supplements are not available in the UK

Good points of interest
Some good points to substitute your regular meds for a more natural lifestyle which I will be looking at to do.

Well researched, from someone who isn't trying to sell you something! Whether it helps me cure my digestive issue remains to be seen...
