I live in an area near one of the Great Lakes and well known for snowy winters, and as beautiful as snow in the pines and on the slopes may be, it's no friend on the driveways and sidewalks. With winter temperatures dipping well below zero, it can be downright dangerous, and is certainly uncomfortable, to venture out for snow removal or recreation without warm clothing, and in the past that has always, for me, meant a warm scarf around my neck.No more.This warm fleece gaiter looks like I'm wearing a scarf under my coat, but it's much more comfortable, keeps me warmer, and doesn't gradually slide down to expose my upper neck. The woven exterior and fleece interior block the wind and driving snow and are warm as wool, but with none of the annoying scratchiness of a wool scarf. If it's really bitter outside, the top of the gaiter can even be pulled up to protect the lower part of the face, a plus for both winter sports and cold-weather work like clearing snow.I purchased this well into winter and haven't tried it under other conditions but I suspect it will also be a welcome item for autumn campfires and cool spring evenings, and for early-morning stargazing.

Was hoping it would be a bit heavier material but it is comfortable and fits great.
