Carnation Seeds - Etincellant - Packet - Red Flower Seeds, Heirloom Seed Attracts Bees, Attracts Butterflies, Attracts Pollinators, Edible, Fragrant, Container Garden

Unlike the red ones I got from the same vendor which are superb, these white ones had a terrible germination rate. Out of my initial 36 seeds sowing, I got 1 single seedling (with the red ones I got over 20 seedlings out to 36, sown at the exact same time using the exact same method). I then used the "paper towel method" for a few days and planted another 50 white seeds from that. From that I got 2 more seedlings so far (been just over a week). I also decided to use every seed left and did once more the paper towel method, this time with with 15% hydrogen-peroxide (15% of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution that is, topped up to 100% with 85% distilled water i.e. 7.5ml 3% H2O2 + 42.5ml warm water). I seeded the lot of them, every last seed from the packet. I am getting a few more seedlings coming up. I would say from the entire pack of seeds (there were plenty in there) I might get 10 seedlings in total. This is the worst germination rate I have ever had from any pack of seeds. This current batch of seeds is abysmal (I assume they were harvested in 2019). If you do buy them then plant them all if you hope to see anything.

I had an amazingly high germination rate with these (using a humidity chamber). This batch of seeds (I assume harvested 2019) are worth the money.

Growing well--can't wait for the flowers.
