Great product and value
After using Rodan fields for a few years, I didn’t really notice that much of a difference and felt it was too overpriced. Then I switched to super cheap product and my skin was more prone to break outs. Back using envy and I love it! So smooth and my skin never looked better

Nice Moisturizer, But Lack of Sun Screen Seems Shortsighted
This fancy-named, and rather pricey, product isn't super clear in its description of what it is, but to put it more simply and plainly: it's a moisturizer. Supposedly specifically designed for us with other peeling products in this line, which I don't have, it's basically just a face moisturizer which they advise using morning and night. And, as a moisturizer, I was actually really pleasantly surprised. It has a faint floral scent (probably the lavender oil), and feels light and refreshing going on. It also absorbs quickly and leaves your face feeling matte and smooth, almost like a makeup primer. I really liked it.It also didn't irritate my somewhat sensitive skin, nor was it too heavy for summer use. (I sort of hate, thick cream moisturizers, other than in the dead of winter.)For me, the biggest downside, and why I won't likely buy again even though I really liked the feel, is that it lacks sunscreen, which seems especially egregious if its designed for use after facial procedures, when newly revealed skin is especially sensitive to UV damage. Having to use a separate product seems nullifies the effects of this one's smooth, soft finish.

Soothing lotion
I'm usually quite skeptical of expensive products like this, although there have been a few that have impressed me. This is one of the few that I've really liked, although i could never afford them myself. This is touted as both treatment "especially post-procedure and during intense treatment regimens" (not me, although I might use this after using an at home mask which would be par for the course for me weekly) and as a regular, daily treatment. I have the normal problems women of my age experience (I'm 50): loss of elasticity, some wrinkles developing (although I'm lucky genetically, they aren't very bad), and even now, an occasional blemish. I also have somewhat sensitive skin (I'm strawberry blonde with a typical freckled, red head complexion). I like the calming aspect of this lotion, as well as the very light fragrance. It's easy to spread and you only need a tiny amount, which makes a bottle of this size last for a while, helping to justify the price.I used this last night, after taking a shower before bed. My skin felt dry, and I did have two spots of redness on my skin, where a blemish was trying to heal and one was maybe trying to emerge. I used this all over my face, including on the red spots, and it really seemed to help immediately and my skin was markedly improved in the morning. Even when applying, I noticed improvement last night on the very fine lines on my forehead--my skin seemed smoother and looked healthier. This isn't miraculous, but it definitely made my skin feel better and it looked better when I woke up this morning. I really love the fragrance--a very light lavender, but not perfumey or over-floral in anyway.

Hopefully better than fade cream
October 2018 Update: I promised to update my review if I saw any difference from using this cream. Well, I've been using this dermal balance for a month and I have seen some very good results. I have darker pigmentation around my eyes just above the eyebrows. It's been very noticeable for over 12 years. It has faded quite a bit since I began using this cream and my entire face has a more even toned youthful look. I even shaved with a razor that usually causes irritation just to see if it helps prevent development of new scars and discoloration. I still experienced irritation as I expected but there was no scarring afterward. My face was irritated for a day or so and it was then as if nothing happened. It's amazing how much older uneven skin tone in certain places can make the face appear. I have seen enough good results from this product that I have no problem investing in another bottle once this one is finished. This is not merely a moisturizer. For those who can really benefit from it, i.e. those of us with hyper-pigmentation disorders or those who had recent surgical procedures, it's more than just a good moisturizer; it's a fantastic way to balance and even out skin tone while preventing new dark spots and areas from developing.Original Review (From early September 2018):****************************************************I have hyper pigmentation. Every cut, nick or scrape I get leaves a mark. Even tiny irritations like razor cuts or zits will leave ugly unsightly dark spots on my face and neck. I've been using fade creams containing hydroquinone for over three decades. I'm tired of the mixed results and onion-ish smell of hydroquinone, so I'm always on the lookout for better. I couldn't giving this Envy Dermal Balance a try.The cream goes on easily and absorbs quickly. It doesn't feel greasy or rubbery after absorption. It softens my facial skin and feels pretty nice. It's way too early to tell if the " Active8 peptide™ " is helping with my existing discolorations but my tone does look more even after a week of use. I should be able to tell much more quickly if it helps with preventing the development of new dark scars. I wish it had a sunscreen like my fade creams did but I just slap a coat over top of it when necessary. I will be certain to update and advise if it is effective at fading existing dark spots. Otherwise, you can safely assume it didn't.
