The In Between Tarot Takes the Concept of “Reading Between the Lines” To a Whole New Level!
What a fascinating deck this is! I am so very glad I added it to my collection, and now I will explore with you why. Tarot cards, each on their own, tell a story. In a spread, cards combine to tell an even bigger story. But what’s being explored here in the In Between Tarot, is how the Majors, the Minors, and the Court cards connect one to the next to tell their stories of growth and development.Author Janine Worthington, takes us on 5 separate (yet connected) journeys with this deck (well 9 journeys if you count the Court cards as separate journeys), showing how in each of the 4 suits and the Major Arcana the cards connect one to the next and so on till you reach the final card (which then connects back to the first card! It is akin a Journey of the Fool in all of the suits. So, on each card, there is symbology that connects one card to the one following it (examples: The Fool/Magician, Magician/High Priestess, etc.). At the end of the Majors, the World connects back to the Fool, which makes perfect sense. It’s clear Worthington has really flushed out this concept well with the Major Arcana. But this deck was created first as a Major Arcana deck and then the concept was expanded to the minors. In the Minor Arcana, Card 10 connects back to the Ace card in the suit. The Court cards connect one to the other with the King card connecting back to the Page, which I think is an awesome concept depicting the circle of life. It is interesting to note that two Queens (Cups and Swords) depict men and two Kings (Wands and Coins) depict women. An interesting balance achieved; male energy as both power/control (Swords) and nurturing (Cups) and feminine energy as both earthy (Coins) and Wands (Fire/masculine energy). Love that synergy!I love the artwork but did not quite resonate with some of the suit themes (suffragette movement for Pentacles), but really, it does not detract from my overall opinion of the deck. I took a picture of some of my favorite Major In Between cards and here’s how I see them. The High Priestess / Empress card beautifully reflects the blending of the energies of these 2 cards! The Empress / Emperor depicts a sharing of power. And the Emperor / High Priest reveals power and authority by showing someone who controls people’s lives and someone who controls people’s souls. I threw in a picture of the Hermit / Wheel because I loved the depiction of the Hermit sitting on the Wheel surrounded by the 4 elements! And there is a picture of one of Male Queen to King cards and female King to Page cards.I give this 5 stars because of the uniqueness and out-of-the-box thinking that went into conceiving it. It brings the concept of the Fools’ Journey from the esoteric realm of the majors to the minors, reminding everyone that each aspect of our lives can be its own Fool’s Journey. This deck is great for both the seasoned practitioner and those who are maybe a year or 2 into their Tarot journey. It broadens your perspective. I think you can read for others fine with this deck, but I plan on using it mostly for personal reflection and self-discovery as well as a way to dive deeper in my Tarot studies.

Absolutely worth buying
First off what I love about this deck is that it helps explain the storyline of the fool’s (hero) journey. It helps give some insight on what happens in between the transitions, or what I would say as between the lines. This is a great stand alone deck or a deck to use with others decks as a clarifier reading. I would even think this could be a good deck for semi new people to tarot to help understand the cards in a deeper level, but it likely would be best enjoyed by professional readers or people with more experience. The guidebook is a worthwhile read, card quality is perfect. The box is huge, but that’s not a bad thing as the guidebook is pretty large and it’s got to fit somehow

Great addition to my regular use decks!
I love love love this deck! I must begin by saying it is not for someone who has little to no "intimate" knowledge of the tarot. YOU MUST KNOW YOUR STUFF to understand the art. It is deep. Someone wrote about the lack of female presence in the queen cards but I beg to differ. It is not all of them as she stated. For example the Queen of Swords is depicted as a man yet if you know your stuff you know a queen in her swords energy is a COMPLETE B****! very masculine energy, now imagine that energy morphing into the King of Swords. Suddenly it makes perfect sense why they did what they did. The artistry is captivating. They do require effort to decipher yet the book is helpful in the simplest way. I have no regrets about this deck.

Five tarot journeys
This deck is gorgeous! Each suit is a journey unto itself along with the major arcana which is also a journey. You can follow the journeys from beginning to end very easily because each suits keeps the same characters throughout. A very inclusive deck with an entire suit devoted to people of color (the cups) and an entire suit devoted to women (the pentacles) unlike most inclusive decks that have them scattered minimally throughout. Very interesting deck with exquisite artwork. Can't wait to see how it reads. After looking it over, it is very RWS (Rider Waite Smith) oriented so should be easy to pick up and read from without having to rely much on the book. The book does however add a lot of modern meaning to the cards so I recommend at least skimming it to understand the underling stories.Update: Tried using this in a reading and as gorgeous as the cards are, they don't relate to each other. The stories in each suit are so divergent that they don't work well together in a reading.

Wow
This deck is very underrated. When you lay all the cards out and view all the suits together, you get this really deep story line between 4 different stories which aren’t the same, but are interconnected on a basic level. The authorOf this deck did an amazing job at portraying the concept of continuity. Also when your looking at the cards it’s very easy to pick up the energy of the cards and their messages . This deck truly gives you a way to understand tarot on a much intimate level, and speaks to you emotionally . I’d even go as far to say someone without any knowledge of tarot would be able to understand , read, and know the cards. Love this deck ! 💕 would definitely recommend it.

So captivating! Great for intuitive reading
This is my first deck ever so I don’t have much to compare to. I’ve spent the last 6 weeks really studying tarot and tapping in to my intuition. This deck feels very balanced in acknowledgement of dark and light. This deck has a interconnectivity that considers the journey’s impact on your present. I am so glad that the artwork captivated me as this may not be the best starter deck for all but I have had a rich and rewarding challenge in this deck!!!

Really interesting cards
I love these cards as they are unique and give you another outlook on the standard tarot cards. The book is great too as it explains the symbolism used and lots of other detail, I am having fun reading it all the way through. Highly recommended
