Athlon Optics Ares BTR 4.5-27x MIL w/MK Machining Carbon Fiber Throw Lever & Billet Scope Level

I put this on a CZ455 .22 which I use out to 300 yards or so in our hay field. This scope dials out 12+ mils and returns to zero at 50 yards every time with no POI shift at all. I haven't done any box testing but the tests I've seen done on these turrets indicate that Athlon has their turret accuracy very well sorted even on the lower end scopes. The click detents aren't quite as positive as on the much cheaper Talos scope but they are more than tactile enough. The reticle is quite fine, and ranging objects using the mil hashes is very easy and accurate thanks to the .2 mil spacing. In comparison the same reticle in the Talos 4-14x looks chunkier and seems to obscure the target more. The tension on the parallax, zoom, and illumination is good enough to stay put if you bump them but not too hard to turn. A throw lever on the zoom will help if you need to get to the end of the zoom range really fast. I have an older Vortex Viper, a Minox hunting scope, a couple of Japanese SWFA scopes, and a Japanese Weaver 3-15x FFP and the glass in this scope is easily better than or equal to any of them - very usable out to max zoom. I got this from MK Machining and their customer interactions have been stellar I would highly recommend going through them when possible

So far so good scope is holding zero haven’t tested the tracking of turrets yet but build quality is good turrets on my scope are mushy if you take the o ring out of both turrets it does make a difference in sound and feel of adjusting the turrets gets rid of some of the mushy feel. As far as the package deal with throw level and bubble level the throw level is nice but bubble level I have a issue with bubble itself it is loose.

I use this on my 22LR match rifle. It really works well. I've cranked my vertical adjustment to the end and back several times and it holds a good zero. The zero stop is also very nice. Illuminated reticle made night shooting a lot easier.

For the price, an excellent value! Doesn't compare to my S&B PmII optically but a better value if you're on a budget.Haven't completed a tracking test but I'll update if it fails to perform.
