This is one of the best products I have ever purchased on Amazon.com. At first, my wife insisted that I not waste the money on this bag (preferring to use trash bags, etc...); but I ordered it anyway. Wow, am I thrilled! First, the density of the plastic bag itself is awesome. While I had a soft cast to start; the new hard cast has some sharper edges; however, I am confident that the bag will handle a few nicks along with the many uses I intend to give it. Also, as my wife is pushing me after two weeks to be totally independent; I am practicing my own Olympic gymnastics trying to get this on and into the shower. I can easily put the protector on with one hand and pull up past my cast and knew with great ease (Gold Medal performance by product and user as far as I am concerned). Moving onto the next event; the shower! I can now say that with this protector and a hard cast, I am up to taking a shower every day (at least once or maybe even twice a day after the gym) thanks to the ease of using this protector. The plastic rubber seal that fits 100% secure on your leg (even my big fat leg) is awesome. There is enough flexibility in the seal, that if you get the right size (or any size range closely aligned to the length of what you purchase); than I am confident that your cast or area of injury will not get wet a all! I have taken 3 showers with the protector so far not even with a drop of water on the protected limb. That includes not having residual water drop on my cast when I am taking off the protector. I was so confident that the protector would keep my cast dry that I suggested to my MD that I could literally go swimming with it on (frowned upon at this time due to the nature of the injury); but I will be trying it soon once my cast comes off! So, if I could give this product 10 STARs!!!! I definitely would. As far as trash bags; since I can use this product with confidence over and over again (I foresee at least 100 showers with its use in the future); it is also of better value in the end being a very cost effective, safe, and pleasant device to use. If I was an MD; I would actually consider offering them to patients in my office as they are an incredible product that could raise revenue too if moderately marked up but available for those who do not use Amazon.com! Awesome product!

Absolutely bone dry and i have used it numerous times. Many times i have tried to use a plastic bag and duct tape or cleartape and to no avail. This thing keeps everything dry and come off and goes on easily with no skin irritation.

I recently tore my quadriceps tendon and muscle. After surgery I was in a full leg brace which did not allow the leg to bend for several weeks. I ordered this product because I was getting desperate for a shower but I knew the leg brace must remain on. When the DMI Cast/Bandage Protector showed up my first thought was "No way will that work". The hole in the stretchy material at the top looked way to small. I am happy to say that it is not too small. It stretches quite a bit. We were able to get it over the leg brace and it securely snapped back to the skin on my upper thigh. This protector works exactly like the vendor indicates it will. My bandages and brace remained dry while allowing me to finally get a shower. The venal is nice and thick. It is a well built product that does what it is supposed to do.

When the doctor told me that I could not get my leg wet for 8 weeks I started searching for an alternative to the "plastic garbage bag/rubber band and or duct tape" option, which I have used very unsuccessfully in the past. After finding this item and reading other reviews I decided to give it a try. WOW! It actually works! Easy on/off and keeping my leg completely dry! I would give this product 10 starts if I could!UPDATE: While this item DOES keep my leg completely dry, the problem that I have experienced twice now is that after a few uses the rubber seal tears. I have ordered another one because I think I know how to prevent that from happening. Before each use I'm planning on putting a thin layer of petroleum jelly around the edges. This should prevent the rubber from catching and tearing. I'll update afterwards.

The product was difficult to put over a leg brace. After a couple uses, the elastic broke. Was working great until that happened. The length was adequate and the plastic durable.

This cast cover is great, highly recommend it!!! It helped a ton to keep me cast dry, it's been a month since I bought it, by now I'm wearing a boot which I usually remove for showering, but use the cover still after surgery to keep my incisions dry. The plastic is high quality and the rubber seal at the top has kept it's hold, as I initially thought it might loosen up. But it hasn't, and water never went through. It's pretty tight actually, my daughter usually has to help me stretch one side, while I stretch the other to put my leg through. But all in all, definitely worth the money spent!!

Works perfect. Keeps my cast nice and dry. Easy to put on and take off.

Me llegó a tiempo y quede muy satisfecha. No se lemete en absoluto agua y es de muy buen tamaño.

No se cuela nada de agua, va genial para la ducha.No se puede sumergir completamente, seguro que entra agua por la junta de silicona, pero aguanta las salpicaduras de una ducha sin problema.La única pega es que el tamaño de pierna completa es enorme y sobra mucho, con mi 170cm de estatura quizá me hubiese funcionado mejor una medida más pequeña.

After an operation on my foot, i was in plaster for 9 weeks, and unable to get it wet.This was a great solution. Very cheap compared to buying plastic sleeves and waterproof tape.Not once in 9 weeks did water enter my leg. It's very easy to put on, no fuss, seals extremely well, and durable.Also the 42"model is large enough to cover all of the leg, right up to the thigh.
