Beautiful pictures and great recipes
Asma Khan is a legend and her book is every bit as good as the restaurant. The recipes are homestyle and dont have bog-standard Westernized Indian food. If you're looking for saag paneer and chicken tikka masala, this is not for you.

YUM
Ate at the restaurant in London and was sad I didnt have enough room in my luggage to buy the book. Glad to see the e-version has America-friendly units :-) The roti recipe was the only one that seemed a little off, but I was able to adjust with more liquids.

You'd better know how to cook
Her story is lovely, but the book clearly lacked a culinary editor. While the recipes are simple, many amounts are simply errors: over 2 pounds of masoor dal to serve 2 people; 2 pounds and 1 cucumbers to serve 10; 2 tablespoons of sugar in a white chicken curry. The publisher should correct these mistakes and the many more throughout the book when they print the next edition. Much of the food photography is unappealing..

Fantastic recipes so glad I bought this.
I use this little book on a regular basis having purchased as part of GBC cookbook club. The food is really delicious, very unlike sweet sticky takeout. My family regularly request that I cook from this. Easy to follow, simple recipes that result in superb flavour, it amazes me. For a beginner cook or a seasoned one. Highly recommend

Quick to make delicious recipes
I ordered this book after watching Asma on Chef's Table, and her numerous television appearances. She struck me as a vivacious character, and her recipes accessible, which is why I bought this book. I have a large cookbook collection, with a lot of Indian cookbooks, and this is one of my favourites. I hate cooking rice, and I was pleased that the rice dish, the Tehri pulao, pictured turned out really well. The recipes are great and I would recommend for cooks for all levels. I am going to make the carrot dessert this evening, I'll edit this post to let you know how I get on! :-)

3 free recipes on the sampler download!!!
I’ve ordered the full book and excitedly waiting for the launch date 4th Oct as I’ve been a big fan of Asma’s- having frequented her supper clubs and now restaurant in London! Happy that Amazon has decided to release these three free recipes from what looks to be a beautiful book ahead of time as a Sampler! Free recipes are: Chingri Bhaja (ghee fried prawns), Paneer Malai Korma (creamy indian cheese) & Bihari Kabab (Barbecued Beef Strips). Love!

Simple cooking from the Indian sub continent, but delicious
This is not your typical Indian cookery book. It is far superior, yet offers a simplicity I’ve yet to see in other books. You don’t need a kitchen full of spices for these recipes. The food tastes aromatic, fragrant and simply spiced and not overwhelming. Delicious. The book is very well written. The background stories relating to the recipes are very interesting. The photography well done.Asma and her team of talented ladies deserve the success they are getting.
