Set up for shrimps
They are the smaller light gray rocks, I have no shrimp just yet as I'm still establishing the system. They arrived just as described and the mineral rocks looks great.

Snail shells look better. Shrimps are breeding.
I have tetras, cherry shrimp, amano shrimp and bladder snails in my 20 gallon. The bladder snails (they're detritivores btw, not pests. The best free, self sustaining cleaning crew) after a year were starting to look pretty rough with patchy decalcified and fragile shells. After adding everything but the cones, since I already had some, hatchling snails grew up perfectly. The cherry shrimp are also breeding like rabbits. They might actually replace some of the snail population which is fine. The snails are good at vacuuming but the shrimps are way better at dusting.

It's a shrimp magnet
I was amazed at how much my dwarf shrimp seem to be enjoying the mineral rocks. It's like a magnet to them. They used to be scattered all over my tank but now they are always somewhere close to the mineral rock. I have seen as many as 4 on top of it, a couple under it, and the rest are in the neighborhood. I'm not sure what effect it will have on my fish but the shrimp absolutely love it.

Darkens water
I Should of researched it better. It came with no instructions. The cones turned my tank dark brown. If I would of known this I would of soaked them first. The mineral stone was one decent size piece and 2 very small it was covered in what looked like concrete dust.didnt know if this was beneficial to shrimp so I dumped the excess and rinsed the rocks.the last picture is before I added the 5 tiny cones .I already did a 50 percent water change before I took the first 2 pictures it was a lot darker

Before adding these to the water or your thinks quarantine them first
so yesterday I got these in the mail and they were super cute I rinse them off and made sure that there was no extra residue from the shipping. So last night I put a couple of the pieces in there because I have not gotten the shrimp yet so I just wanted to condition the atmosphere for them before they came today. Well when I woke up this morning about 20 of my fish were dead there was nothing left but the live plants all the fish seem to have passed away during the night the only change that I had made, Was adding this to the water! Hopefully somebody will reach out to me so that I can get my money back because I know that they’re not gonna pay for the 20+ fish that I had in my tank.

Boil wood first! But my shrimp love these 🦐
My shrimp seem to really like these rocks and wood bits. I don't honestly know if they actually condition the water or enhance their color but the shrimp hang out on the the rocks especially. I've got a small tank and figure anything that might help is good for the shimpies and they seem to agree.

Very effective!
Very effective and great products but will turn your tank completely coffee colored if not soaked or boiled. See the picture of my 3 gallon tank. I only put in two cones and one day later it looks like this.
