Tripod Remote Control For Canon Camcorders With LANC

I purchased this controller for use with my Canon Vixia HF S30 camcorder. I've been using it for about three weeks. It has exceeded my expectations! for a (very) low cost unit it is a great value. Others have commented on the clicking sound of the zoom switch and it is present. It has not been an issue with any of my recent shoots though I will probably add some foam inside to quiet it if possible. Others have commented on the unit causing their camcorder to cycle off and on. My experience has been that when connected, the controller FULLY controls the power state of the camcorder. If the power switch is in the ON position when one plugs it into the camcorder, the camcorder will power up. In any case I find it works perfectly. The camcorder needs to be set to Manual Focus for the EBENK's focus controls to work. Be advised that if other control settings are being modified (such as setting manual exposure) then the focus control will not be available then. Also, the on screen display needs to be activated for some reason. Having the EBENK controller has liberated me considerably by having essential controls at my fingertips (my thumb actually). The clamp is very useful. It works well both for my hand held rig and also fits perfectly on the handle of my full size tripod. The only control which does not function ( to my knowledge) is the footage review, but I have no need for that. Buy one!! I find it very comfortable to use.

Controls are positive with a very reliable response. Downside....noisy ... seem a little loose and rattley. Not a problem if you are shooting most places. I am shooting where absolute silence is a must and find this control will not work for filming deer from tree stands. Lots of good & satisfactory uses for this remote control & I would recommend it.

This product is just what the seller says, and not any more. Obvious very low quality but does function as described. I still recommend it for very tight budgets but not above that and not professional.More important! locate a LANC extention cable, since they are very rare and not possible to use this devise without one, since it only has an 8" cable. Still haven't found an extension less than 20' to use this device on my tripod just 24" away.

Based on other reviews I did not have high expectations for this product. I am using it with a Cannon XH A1. Only half of the controls work but they are the ones I needed. These buttons do work: on/off, record, zoom, and the zoom speed nob. The rest of the buttons do not work with my camera, It does feel a little cheap, I have only used it a week and can not vouch for the durability over the long haul. The clip that attaches it to the tripod works surprisingly well. Not a great product but a really good value for the money.

An awesome edition to my tool box, all the controls are with in thumbs reach, would be difficult to go without it now, I love it!

Still using it , Most bang for your buck

I will start off my review by saying that this isn't the best LANC remote you can use for your camera, but it is the best by far in its price range.The buttons do make a bit of noise when pressed, but this has never been an issue with me, as my directional mics have never really picked it up before, seeing as how the remote stays about two feet behind and bellow the mic.For my needs with weddings, corporate, and local business commercial shoots, this bad-boy has worked admirably. Granted, every one I have owned has crapped out a little after one year of use, but at it's price point, I could buy 5 and go 5 years for the same price of a moderately rated mid-range LANC remote. To me, the money I have made on the shoots where I have had these has made them indispensable and well worth the purchase. I have bought four now, two for two years running, and I have been very happy with them.Bottom line: if you can afford a higher priced remote, you may want to go with it. But, if you want something that is dependable for its first year of life and won't punch you in the wallet, then this is definitely the way to go.
