Just like something else
This is a great product, works the same as RainX, you can get it cheaper. I really couldn't tell a difference between the tow. Some saoid it lasted longer, I guess it depends on how much it rains on you. Works as described.

Step aside Rain-X, Aquapel ROCKS!
RainX is good for a week, or until you accidently use your wipers. Aquapel not only repels better, but it lasts. I hardly ever have to use my wipers. I can see better than anyone else on the road during the worst torrential rains, and that's without wipers!Remember, rain repellents only work above 35mph. You will never have to use your wipers going down the highway even in the worst of thunderstorms. It's awesome! No streaks at all, just great visibility.Make sure your windshield is clean first. Then apply the repellent onto the windshield and let it air dry. Instructions say to wipe it off, but don't. You'll remove a little of its effectiveness. Since it will make a dirty windshield until the next rain, I always apply to windhield just before a rain. Then I don't have to drive around with the streaks left because I don't wipe them off.Happy rain driving!

first impression is wow, but then disappointing
I don't know, the wipers are new (just bought 2 months ago - BOSCH) and after using aquapel, the wipers don't clean the window anymore - 1000km is good with aquapel, but then it doesn't work anymore - I did clean the car without using wax or other nano products, but still the rain absorbing effect is gone.I wouldn't recommend it - I've bought 8 pcs because the first impression on a friend's car, was awesome - but after a too short time it doesn't work anymore and I have the feeling it destroyed my new wipers.I followed exactly how to use it - so not my mistake. (my car: Mercedes B-200CDI).

Aquapel Automative Rain Repellent
Applied to front windshield. It works the same as Rain-X not any better. If it doesn't last any longer then Rain-X I'll go back to using Rain-X. Aquapel would not be worth the extra cost.

Awesome stuff!
I'm a glass engineer at a car factory. I use this stuff on my own car. 'nuff said?Ok well, I'll throw in some more details. I only use it on my windshield because this stuff is kinda pricey! Also, Rain-X is supposedly bad for rubber (windshield wipers) so I've been Rain-X'ing the side and rear glass on my cars, and I use the Aquapel on the windshield.Talking to a PGW rep for my factory, he called the stuff "Rain-X on steroids" and I'm not sure about the steroids, but it's definitely great stuff! He also told me that his company actually puts Aquapel on the glass from the factory for some Lexus (RX I think?). I got a few samples from him, but after trying to use them several weeks later, I had either accidentally smashed them (they're very fragile) or they had dried up already. oh well, at least they were free. It's pretty cool to watch the little tiny water beads scoot up the windshield as you drive on the freeway!

Marginally better than RainX less smearing won't buy again!
I've updated this review but can't drop my rating to 2 stars.I've used RainX for years. It's cheap and easy to apply and sort of works. Aquapel is slightly better at first but after 3 rainstorms it seems used up. I had a professional detailer put it on, so I know it was done correctly. It was good for the first couple of rainstorms, which is when I wrote my review. But now a storm or two later and it's on par with RainX which is a lot cheaper. True this stuff doesn't streak anywhere near as much as RainX.Also I washed my car at a local car wash and that seems to have diminished the Aquapel even further. I've washed my car with RainX there many times and it's ok but this stuff seems to come off much more easily.Overall I wouldn't buy Aquapel again. I have enough to last a long time as it is but I wouldn't buy it again. After just a few rainstorms, I would lower my rating to a 2 instead of a 5. Amazon doesn't let you change your rating. I'd rate it 2 instead of a 1 because it doesn't smear like RainX.I've heard of wiper blades that are supposed to be better than RainX so I will try those out for this winter. We looked at the new Nanotech stuff but it's too expensive right now.My suggestion is either buy the expensive nanotech stuff or use RainX. The Aquapel isn't worth the effort to put it on.

If its so good, why don't auto manufacturers recommend using?
I bought a 4 pack of this stuff and applied it, strictly following the directions on the package. Yeah, the stuff works great at 40 mph or greater WITHOUT using the windshield wipers. However, when you NEED the wipers, it creates a lot of drag (new wiper blades and arms on a new windshield) and the wipers chatter. Worse, at night it makes the blades skip areas and you get a steaky mess to try and look through. I live in the Seattle area and I know how important it is to take care of your wiper system. The worst part is--try and remove this stuff from your windshield. I tried every chemical concoction I could think of and every solvent system imaginable. I even called the company and they told me to use Bon Ami. I have a new car and when I read the back of the Bon Ami container prior to using they state "DO NOT use on glass". Now, almost a year later and the stuff is still messing up my windshield. Ask yourself this simple question. If this stuff were this good, why don't the auto manufacturers recommend it? Do yourself a favor and pass on this product--I WISH I HAD!
