Nice tool to have
We just stretched 1200 feet of field fence and barbed wire. We used this tool where the fence stretcher wouldn’t work, primarily on the barbed wire. A great tool for the box.

Highly functional
Quick and easy to place and remove you don't have to wrap the wire around a hook. Will make restretching a lot simpler.Highly recommend giving this a shot.

Pays for itself 1st time you need it
This worked extremely well on a large barbed wire project I did for our neighbors. TIP: Put some colorful tape on it, so you can find it when it falls into the grass. Not my own idea. Thanks to past reviewers.

Really is handy for pulling wire
It is fast and easy to connect and pull without having to cut the wire or tie an eye. It did slip to the barb a couple times but not beyond. Overall a handy tool.

Best I used for barbed wire
To use this tool, slide the ring towards the eye, and find the groove in the ring. Put the wire through the groove, and rotate the ring, so that the groove is on the opposite side of the wire. Once you start stretching the wire, the ring slides down the tapered part of the tool, and wedges against the wire for a no-slip grip, at least on barbed wire. I haven't tried it yet on high tensile, so I can't say how it works with it. What I like about this, is that it doesn't have aggressive teeth that cut into the wire, through the galvanizing, yet doesn't slip. I also like that it has a big enough eye, so you could use a tractor or ATV to pull wire if you needed to.So far, so good. It has yet to slip, and has held up to whatever tension I put on the wire. For stretching long runs of wire, it is so much more convenient to be able to use my come-along with a 10 foot cable, and stretch it all at once, instead of using hand stretchers that you have to reset several times to get the wire tight enough. If you are doing a really long run of wire, you might even want to get two, and stretch from both ends.
