A Rookie's Guide to Pool Table Maintenance and Repair: A Manual to Assemble, Re-cover, Re-cushion, Level, and repair any Pool Table

Excellent resource for anyone who wants to maintain or repair a pool table. First off, it is a large print format book, 8 ½ x 11 which makes it easy to read and use. It is chock full of diagrams, information and advice about every type of pool table I’ve ever seen. Although I only need it for one type of table, the one I own, I am pleased with the wide scope of different table types and component parts discussed in this book.I also recommend another book by this author, Moses Duane. Not too long ago, I found a copy of a book on my shelf that I forgot that I had and it is called A Rookie’s Guide to Playing Winning Pool. Don’t let the title fool you. While it is very useful for rookies, it also has significant value and advice for advanced players. On the cover, there’s a subtitle that says “From Beginning to Advanced Players.” I think that the main title might mislead advanced player into thinking that the book has no value for them. This is not true.

This is a great book for long term ownership and the refurbishment of a billiard table. It applies to your own table that has reached the point of needing refurbishment, as well as what to look for if buying a used table. I also would recommend it for those who are going to refurbish a table through a vendor so that you will understand exactly what they are going to do and how they are going to do it.This book will go on my shelf; I hope I don't need it for a long time. I have a one year old table, and I was really looking for a book on everyday maintenance that will extend good play and the time before I reach the need for complete or partial refurbishment. For those serious about their game, it's a book that each owner should have.

I own a nice billiards table and so I purchased this book, it provides alot of information and was helpful.

A very precise and informative book, well written, easy to understand. Was able to recover my pool table with a minimum amount of effort. Illistrations could be alittle clearer when it comes to covering the rails. otherwise, great book.

This book is great and gives the reader a complete overview of how various types of pool tables have been manufactired, and detailed instructions on how to do everything from minor repair/refinishhing, through replacing bumpers and refelting (which was much more complex than I thought that it would be).For someone handly this could save a lot of money. Having a professional refinishing a pool table is very costly ($500 to $1000). in reality most of these folks sell pool tables and would much rather have you spend the 2K and up to replaced, rather than refish.I wish someone would read this book and startup a business to maintain and repair tables!
