If you have to use a small die this is perfect.Have used mine several times so far

This is actually a pretty decent die stock. I was put off by the product description that made no sense, but the item I received is good. The handles are steel and the body is steel or iron. A magnet is attracted to each piece. The opening is 1" and accepted a US made threading die easily. The set screws have a beveled end. The there was initially a little resistance to running the screws in and out but they work fine now. The handles are removable also. I would buy this again.

I've been a machinist for 15+ years an have used many tools like this. This is probably as good as it's going to get for a new made die stock.

I have a plain regular 1" Die holder with aluminum body, but I needed one with additional screws, so I can use adjustable dies. This fits the bill.

Tool works as intended. Stronger than the original that came with the tap and die set. I like the fact there are three screws that hold the die fast to the holder.

The 3.7cm dimension refers to the OUTSIDE width. I can't see how that would be useful to anyone in any situation. The 1 inch diameter is what people need to use to decide if it will work with the dies they have.

So many die handles/die stocks have cast parts in them. These may be fine for light duty work but are destined to fail. This product however is made of steel. I my opinion that makes it superior. I do have to admit that I returned this item because I was able to get a vintage tool and did not need this one. I would however have chosen this one over the other available options. It is on par with the standard consumer tool quality. I viable option for occasional use.
