Sharpener part works great, but except to hold it down yourself!
Between a handful of kitchen knives that hadn't been sharpened in...uhh...I couldn't remember when, and a pair of scissors that get almost constant use, I decided to pick up the Knife Sharpener from KazzTek.A few weeks after it came, I finally pulled it out and put it to the test.I ran into a problem right away. The directions (which are on the very small box) said to simply pull down the top lever on any hard surface and it would stick via the suction cup. Except it never stuck. I tried it on my plastic cutting board, my wood table and my granite counters and it wouldn't work on any of them. I eventually had to use one hand to hold the base while I sharpened. To test it out, I used my most-used kitchen knife and a couple of carrots I needed cut for dinner (one cut before sharpening, the second after). I ran my knife along the sharpener for about 2 minutes. There were a few times when the knife would get stuck as I was pulling on the sharpener, but for the most part, it was smooth to use. The biggest issue was that it wouldn't stick. By the end of 2 minutes, my hand holding the base was starting to cramp. Once I was done, it was obvious my knife was working better, cutting the second carrot with much less effort than the first one.I also pulled out my favorite scissors and sharpened each side for one minute. I tested by cutting the same piece of paper both times. Again, I found my hand cramping up pretty quickly from holding down the base. The scissors were sharper, but I don't think they were working as well as I had hoped, seeming to cut the paper more jaggedly than before.Overall, the knife sharpener part works as hoped on my knives, but since I couldn't get it to stick, I was not really impressed by it. I'm not totally sure about using it on scissors, because I think they probably need more time on the sharpener but with my hand cramping up, I couldn't really do it.

Stores in a drawer, and works better than expected.
Not suitable for ceramic knives. This device is an unassuming "sleeper", about the size of a large lemon and with a little practice works fine for maintaining everyday workhorse blades in the kitchen. For me, the locking vacuum base worked fine on a smooth countertop. A little water usually helps the grab of temporary vacuum devices. The KazzTec worked best with the knife blade not allowed to tilt, and drawn through in a series of light passes rather than a few heavy cuts. Although it's a knife sharpener, the same routine also worked well touching up utility scissors around the house.

Eh?!?
They make it seem like it's a whole lot bigger than it actually is. All in all it's not a TERRIBLE sharpener so I guess I got what I payed for...

Quality control may be an issue
Ordered two - one worked well the other was misaligned so I sent it back . The one I kept does a fine job sharpening knives

Tiny, light and works well
This sharpener is so tiny and light that I thought the package was empty when it arrived but, wow, it is a great little sharpener. I cook A LOT and like to give my knives a few passes over a sharpening steel each time I use them. This little gem has replaced that. It fastens securely to the counter top and a few passes give my knife a clean very sharp edge. It takes up so little space that I have stored it on the counter just by all my knives for easy access. One of these would be a great hostess gift.

NO luck =(
Still on the fence with this. It seems like it sharpens a little but it doesn't last. I think I wrecked my scissors on this because they sound horrible when I TRY to cut and they don't cut at all now. I have pulled out my old sharpening stone to see if I can repair the scissors....guess I'm back to the drawing board to find a sharpener that works well. The reason I'm on the fence is I don't have a straight edge knife to try out on this. All my knives are serrated. The ad stated this sharpened regular knives and scissors but it doesn't sharpen scissors!! Can't review if it sharpens a knife since it's not made for serrated. =(

I like that it's small
I purchased this at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review of the item. When I took it out of the box, I thought it felt a little cheap. But then I decided to try it out and it actually sharpened really well. I like that it's small, so that I can easily hide it in a drawer when not using it. And it would be really great for camping since it's so small.

Review
I stuck it on the counter, ran my knife through it four times. Works good. My kitchen knives are mid range Japanese layered. They went from mutilating tomatoes to cutting slim slices again.Having said that, I don't know much about knives or sharpening, so take my review for what it's worth, but I did just order another one for non-kitchen knifes.
