Reliable and bright headlamp for running!
I've been using my Olympia for a little over a month now-- especially with the shorter Winter days. I typically run with the lowest intensity setting and then shift to bright when I expect potholes or rough trails. I'm still on my first set of batteries with 10 or so runs under my belt. My dislikes- I wish it was as light as my Petzl headlamp, took standard batteries (though I bought a 10 pack of extra batteries when I placed my order, and with the weight the headlamp doesn't sit well when I wear a thin stocking cap to fight off the cold. The good- love the flexibility to adjust the down tilt on the light and the intensity allows a lot of confidence when running at night. If your headlamp is 5+ years old-- you'll be amazed at how bright the Olympia is!

Provides Excellent Lighting for Various Lighting Conditions / Situations
I run in the dark. My run is out of my neighborhood (street lights) and then down country roads, one of which has no supplemental lighting (street lights, house lights, etc.). It is very dark. I use the lowest setting when running through areas where there are street lights or low light areas where I am familiar. Once I turn onto the country roads where there is no lighting I turn on the highest setting. This works great. The things I really like about this headlamp:1. Easy to turn it on and off. The power button is easy to find in the dark and easy enough to press. I haven't tried it with gloves on, but the button is substantial enough I don't expect problems turning it off/on with gloves.2. There are five settings - high, med high, medium, low, strobe. When I turn it on I can easily count four presses which is the lowest setting. Very easy to get the setting I want quickly and on the first try.3. Fits over a hat / visor. I can wear it without a hat / visor and I do notice the rubber piece on my forehead, but it isn't bothersome. When worn over a hat / visor I don't feel it. It fits atop my head, stays on my head, doesn't move around. It's not heavy.4. The batteries are easy to change. Unscrew a top and put them in. I don't feel I am compromising part of the headlamp when changing batteries (i.e., opening the section where the bulb is, etc.). Very easy.5. Feels sturdy. Is definitely heavier than lightweight headlamps, but I need something that can really light up very dark roads. However, the 'heavier' feel is offset by what I can tell is a well built headlamp. I don't worry if I drop it that I'll break plastic pieces. It feels secure and well built.6. The top strap helps keep it in place. I like that there is more to holding it on my head than a strap across the head, those tend to slip down / off as their usage increases. The top strap it keeps it in place. It doesn't move when on my head.7. It hasn't rained yet... that could change how I feel about this headlamp. So far no super obvious drawbacks.

flakey
When the product works, it's amazing. But the light doesn't stay turned on after only using it a handful of times. Changing the battery had no effect.

So good somebody stole it!
Only had the headlamp for a few weeks. It is super bright. Tight enough fit the extended lamp still stayed secure with mild trail running. Something to consider though. The straps could be better around a head of hair. Somebody stole my daypack with my gear and this lamp..bummer

This headlamp works great. It was purchased for running at night during the wintertime. I have used it during several run and other than it being slightly heavy (by heavy I mean it takes sometime to get used to the weight of the lamp). The light settings are great, the brightness on the first setting is a bit bright and I am sure not pleasant for those drive come toward me but I can see everything. I have found the third setting is the best for my personal preference for running at night on back roads. I typically use this headlamp while wearing a running hat, the headlamp feels better that way.I would highly recommend this light for anyone. Have not used it enough to require a battery change but so far I am impressed.

Powerful Comfortable for Trail Running
Very nice light. I bought this for trail running at night, so was concerned about weight and balance. No worries! The head strap is very comfortable, and the light doesnt shift while running. For trail running it is incredibly bright, which is good. The beam shape and clarity are excellent due to the glass lens used. For use on streets at night with normal street lights, I find lowest setting is plenty just to be visible to traffic. The angle adjustment is a friction, not clicks, and this is more cumbersome to adjust as it takes two hands to accomplish. But the tradeoff is a very solid mounting that doesn't change on its own or droop. The lock-out feature is easy to use and positive, as is the intensity adjustment. Highly recommended!

I hate to just pitch the light
DO NOT BUY unless you have stock in a battery company. This light goes through batteries in an incredibly short amount of time. And batteries cost about $12 a pair. In one month, I went through 4 pairs of batteries. I hate to just pitch the light, but I'm so frustrated with the wasted money on batteries.

Highly Recommneded / Highly Non-tactical.
The media could not be loaded. Hooah. Worked as advertised. Ran one night trail run so far and only used medium intensity. Max setting was very bright . . . much more than I needed to see the trail (note: there was no illum and most of the run was under a thick forest canopy . . . so the trail was very dark). Beam distance was excellent. It fit well. It was easy to adjust the straps and I could easily adjust the angle of the light. No problems.I might suggest "Red" light filters. It just felt wrong to be out there with all that white light.
