My husband originally bought this mug for me for my birthday two years ago, and a friend had put it in the dishwasher; so, it was obviously ruined. I ordered another one around Christmas time 2 years ago and this mug is still going strong! It's used almost everyday. Hand washed. I've used it in the microwave a few times and it's still got the design on it. Also, mine does fade really quickly and stays faded for a while. I'm not sure why other people have had such issues with theirs, maybe faulty batches? Anyways even if it didn't change like it was suppose to I would still love this mug! I love that it looks like a book page. If you love Alice in Wonderland you should definitely get this mug. Even if you only want it for display purposes. Oh, only complaint, if you let your tea or coffee sit in there too long it will stain. Like, when I'm finished with my drink and it doesn't get rinsed out well enough the little droplets of whatever I was drinking may stain it a little bit. Not a big deal, I just make sure to wash it immediately after someone uses it.

Nice and sensitive to heat. When even a warm liquid is poured into the cup, Cheshire Cat disappears nicely, leaving only his smile behind. I've given this to two friends, both of whom ADORE it.

I bought this for my daughter who is a huge Alice fan and she loved it. It's a good size and sturdy. The appearing cat works perfectly and is fun to watch appear. I learned the hard way not to put it in the dishwasher. It says not to, but I forgot and they meant it. The decal pealed right off and ruined the mug, so I ordered another and make sure I wash it by hand. So far so good.

This cup is amazing! Two things though...1) Don't put it in the dishwasher!!! This is my second one because a roommate put it in the dishwasher after I said not to. All the graphics melted right off. If you're too lazy to hand wash a cup... this is not for you.2) Don't let it sit in the sun. Mine sits on my desk at work, and the side that faces the window has faded significantly. I knew art faded in the sun, but that didn't even cross my mind for a cup.Other than that, I would highly recommend this for any Alice fan.

Before I purchased the Cheshire Cat Mug, I noticed in some of the previous reviews that others had mentioned how the graphics tend to come off after being washed several times or after going through the dishwasher. With the respect of the manufacturer in mind, I would like to say that I noticed the warning "Do Not Machine Wash" written multiple times on both the item (on the bottom with the manufacturer's logo) and on the packaging in which it was delivered (on the outside of the box and on a slip of paper inside). As a written warning was given by the manufacturer regarding how to care for the mug, I believe that the overall quality is much higher than the credit which was previously given.However, I did notice upon first use of the mug that the "Disappearing Cheshire Cat" does not disappear entirely. Some of the black speckles on his back remain black even when hot liquid is poured into the mug up to the brim, and he turns an overall light greyish color instead of turning completely white as the packaging implies. Regardless of this fact, I still give the mug a high rating because of its whimsical quality and exceptionally detailed graphics.

My mom is a big Alice in Wonderland fan, the Cheshire cat being her favorite.I saw this and immediately knew this was the gift for her.It came quick, and packaged well, I even used the box it came in to wrap it, just in case the dogs decided to destroy the presents, the mug would still be fine.It's the perfect thing for her to drink her morning coffee in, and it's even more perfect because the Cheshire disappears and leaves only his signature smile behind.She's even being careful to not put it in the dishwasher. Now another perfect piece to add to her growing Alice in Wonderland collection.

The cup works wonderful. My daughter loves it. Just becareful when washing it after use during flu season. We live in an 1812 house and therefore do not own a dishwasher to sanitize. When an illness runs through the house we soak everything in water and bleach. The oops part comes in because it wore the print right off the cup much to my daughter's disappointment to say the least. So daddy to the rescue to get same mug number 2.

I love the artwork on the mug. The Cheshire Cat disappears with hot liquids. Love this item...I bought it as a gift for someone and ended up keeping it because I liked it too much. :)

Eine sehr coole Tasse mit dem Motiv von Alice im Wunderland. Für jeden Fan sowie solche die das Motiv einfach schön finden ein absolutes must-have. Der Thermo-Lack macht bei jedem der den Effekt sieht Eindruck und sorgt für strahlende Augen. Einziges Manko ist, Sie ist nicht Spülmaschinenfest aber das ist ja bekanntermaßen bei allen Thermo-Lack Tassen so.

très joli cadeau pour une amie fan d'Alice et des chats. la façon de préserver l'image au lavage était bien indiquée sur une petite carte dans la boîte !le chat s'estompe au bout de quelques secondes en laissant son sourire
