I lived in Jerusalem for a little bit and fell in love with the dates you could buy at the "shuk." I had a friend that could try them all and swear which was the freshest.I bought these instead of other brands with lots of reviews because 1) they were the only review where no one complained about finding bugs in them 2) they made it clear it was a small family thing from Palestine, which I want to support.I'll be honest, when these came they were very hot from shipping, I tired one and was disappointed because it was just goop. I let them cool down and tried them again and the texture is back. Good dates IMO will have a little bit of a give in the skin but once past the skin will be like (I guess, lacking another thing to compare it to) the texture of a turkish delight with little grains of sugar you can feel on the tongue. If you think I'm over-thinking thing, I'm not, dates are serious business people.In the US I've become more used to dates that have much thicker skin and more body on the inside. They're not bad, they're just different from what you'd get in Jerusalem. And I've come to associate that with authentic.I really have no idea how fresh these are because I don't understand how my friend knew, but I guess I don't care, I just want them to taste good. And these taste good.

We absolutely LOVE our dates and as Vegans, they are an important part of our diet. After relying on the 2 pound boxes and running out all the time, I was thrilled to see them offered in a larger quantity for a great price! The Ziyad Medjool Dates are large, juicy and delicious. Eleven pounds is a lot, but when refrigerated or frozen, they keep well. Whether as part of a recipe, or for a quick snack, they are sooo good.

When it comes to the fruits of medjool dates, it is usually the fullness and the natural delicate sweetness that matters the most that set it aside other types of dates. But here I had my greatest disappointment: instead of soft and delicious fruit I got rocks, almost a fossilized version of what used to be dates at some point of its evolution. It does has the close properties of a stone, so if your plan is to break your own teeth and then run to your dentist as a result of that then go ahead and buy them. As for the rest of us normals, we’ll stay away from it. I wonder if I can return it back to Amazon since I have no use for those rocks. Otherwise it’s a waste of close to $20

Excellent quality madjool from Palestine. There is no fibery texture, very flavorful. The only downside is I was expecting them to be large , they are not large, regular size. The size is not comparable to the ones that I bought from a local store that sells palestine large madjool. But flavor and texture is more important when it comes to taste, so i ll give it a 5 star.

The dates were juicy and delicious

I was concerned when purchasing as I normally shop in an Arabic market near my home that has great produce and many different qualities of dates to choose from. Needless to say, I have not been going out to stores but having my food delivered.These dates were exceptional quality, fresh and delicious! I will definitely order again.

We had purchased the 5 kilo box from a brick and mortar business in a distant city and were delighted to see the smaller box on Amazon Prime. However, went back to using the regular dates from a local supermarket that were much less expensive and much better quality--not dry and tasteless like the one's we purchased from this individual.

Lived the flavour and freshness the first order but second order was old and dry and tasted bad, expires the same month it was received!!!
