Works for a Wii hookup. And new tv
At first couldn't get to work but checked with others that bought for the same thing I did ( hook up my Wii) and worked fine , this saved the day for a new TV without the RCA hook ups for a Wii.

Just what we needed
We got this to connect our dated PS3 to our newer Samsung Smart tv and it did just the trick! We did need to order an HDMI cable as it doesn't come with it and no need to get a USB charger box to plug into an outlet as we just plugged the included USB cable directly into our TV- this worked perfect as the USB cord is only 2-3 ft long.Easy enough for me to hook up and our PS3 is up and running again!Ps, fast delivery and looks like great quality, so far at least!

Potential Buyers: Be aware!!!
The media could not be loaded. I'm going to cut to the chase,This item works!BUUUUT, I am writing this review to warn potential buyers about a couple of things...First off, This item does NOT come with an HDMI cable! I was fortunate to have a spare handy, and I honestly can't knock them for this, as the product description states that it doesn't include one.Second, The USB cable needed to power the device does NOT come with a connector block! once again, I was fortunate to have upgraded my outlets with USB ports included (Honestly, most new TV's have at least ONE USB port built in) and again, I can't knock the item or the company as, ONCE AGAIN, the item description does not state a power block is included. On to business, the item works. I just plugged the AV cables in, connected the HDMI cable, and the picture appeared in seconds. It actually feels like my good old PS2 is a slight bit louder than I remember (Tested with a "Three Stooges" DVD)One slight gripe, the cable included is a little on the short side, even just a couple extra inches would have been a nice little touch!TL;DR: If you have the extra components handy (HDMI cable/ USB power block) or you're willing to spend a little more to get them, you can't go wrong with this device!

Still hanging on to old technology!
My dad wanted to connect his VHS player to his flat-screen TV. There were many of these adapter boxes to choose from, but I think this one was the most affordable.I was able to test and verify that this indeed works in displaying audio and video to an HDMI display.I highly recommend that you properly clean and maintain the VHS heads in your player before connecting this adapter box. By verifying your player works, you eliminate an important variable, should things go wrong.Important note: this adapter has a USB port for auxiliary power, but in my case, it was not needed. The adapter converted analog to HDMI without needing additional power. With this adapter, my dad can still enjoy his collection without needing an on-demand service.

Didn't Work
So I should have listened to the other reviews. This converter would start out ok and then suddenly it would stop producing sound. It worked for playing my old Nintendo games on my new tv, but I couldn't hear any of the music. I thought maybe it was because my system is old, but it didn't work on our DVD player either. And it does NOT come with the HDMI cord. I feel this should be expressly stated. I shouldn't have to read through people's reviews to find out this information. Needless to say, I sent it back.

Great Product
I bought this so that I could use my og xbox with HDMI and it works great. It's been a couple months and it still works and hasn't caused any problems. It needs power, which I just plugged into a USB on the back on my monitor, but something to be aware of if buying.

Works, but not perfectly
I didn't mind that this unit only comes with the USB cable. I have the composite and HDMI cables anyway. Set up was easy, just plug everything in, turn on the projector and VCR and there you go. The only problem I have with this unit is that it stretches the square TV picture to fill a widescreen. I would have preferred a setting to keep the original aspect ratio instead of a switch to go between 720 and 1080 which I didn't notice any difference between. Still, for ten bucks, at last I can watch old videotapes again, even if the picture is slightly stretched.
