Perfect size and price.
These are smallish and EXACTLY what I was looking for. I remember my Grandmother used these to put up her hair, and I looked everywhere for the same thing. Should have checked Amazon first. They hold great and are not intrusive. Good price, and ya get plenty. Haven’t had one break yet!

They are light and hold well in straight hair.
These are light and hold well in my straight hair. I've slept with them in my hair and they are still in place in the morning.

Secure Hold with a Bit of Practice
I was looking for something stronger than bobby pins to keep my hair up, and these U-shaped magic grip hairpins have been a great find! As someone with thin to slightly medium hair, it took a little practice to get the technique right, but once I figured it out, they hold all day without slipping. They work really well for buns and French rolls, and I love how effortless styling feels compared to using a ton of regular pins.

Too bad they are made with a brittle plastic.
I so wanted to love these but I don't. The size and design is useful but I can see why some reviews showed broken ones. They seem to be made of a brittle plastic with no give. If I could find these in a sturdy metal I would buy them.

Get these!
Forget Bobby pins. They slip in my fine hair. These things are awesome, really! I used 2 for my fine hair on a medium sized hair bun and it was secure. I’m never going back to Bobby pins!

A game-changer
These are the bomb! It does help if your hair is frizzy/curly as opposed to straight and sleek -- but these hold better than anything I've seen, with far less hair loss upon removal than metal bobby-pins.

You get what you pay for
I haven't used the expensive brand version of these, but those have little teeth that look like they will hold better than these smooth ones. Also, keep in mind these are cheapy plastic, so they will break if pulled too wide. If I use several and do some strategic braiding, they will hold my hair well. I think all the ads for this style of pin have models with fine short hair, whereas I have thick short hair, so I haven't been able to use them much - I always end up with too much hair in the twist and it looks juvenile.
