Seems well made and might be great for many applications....just not my 99' Jeep Wrangler.What you and "they" need to know is that not all vents are created equal, many are just to flimsy to have the slats of the vent support the weight of just the cradle let alone a Note 4 or an Iphone 6. It would be appreciated if there had been application specs but...?The spring arm is way too long for a curved vent to allow the support legs to land and now that I have to return it I am being charged either $6.01 if I drop off or $12.01 if I have it picked up?!Really Amazon and GadgetSys??!! This is why I have always been leery of doing "business" online. I mean I do my due diligence more so than the average consumer and yet I am being asked to pay money out of my pocket to get the refund and left with nothing to show for money spent?!If something does not fit or is indeed NOT as universal as advertised either the seller should know that or be willing to refund the costs as a part of doing business online.

Unit is supposed to work with a Nexus 4 but you can't plug the charger into the bottom of the phone because the opening in the support is not large enough. The bottom support folds up but the side grips alone do not seem to be sufficient to hold phone over bumps by themselves. Mount to vent is very shaky and loose on my car but that could be due to the vent and dashboard configuration.Update 2/7/14: GadgetSys contacted me and offered assistance on the product. Although it still won't work for my Nexus 4 if I want to plug it in, the customer service response was impressive considering the low cost of the product and with a different car and phone, the product might be a good choice if you are looking for a vent type mount. The release and and adjustment part worked pretty nicely.

it's ok but too late when i read the review about that it doesn't fit to toyota tacoma, i purchased this as a gift and the car owner that was the recipient have a toyota tacoma, i also noticed because i purchased 2 of this that the other holder has a slightly slanted clip while the other one was straight, i don't know if this is a defect but since i already gave this as a gift i have no plans of getting it from them just to return it! anyways, it holds cellphone just fine however the clip wasn't really stable as i tried it first to my car as well as according to my friend (the recipient of this gift) he said that it wasn't that firm because of the spring that holds the clip which is somehow loose or doesn't fit well with his car's air vent, it's ok as a holder of phone but the clip that mounts to the air vent just not perfectly stable but all in all it's still a nice product, just try if this fits your car's air vent properly cause' if it fits well then there would be no problem at all perhaps car's just have different air vent styles and variations and we didn't get that luck for the perfectly fit we wanted that's all. By the way i highly recommend the seller for fast shipping of the product that actually came earlier than the shipping estimate arrival thumbs up!

Two major failings for me on this - YMMV.1 - The module that actually "grabs" your device has a keyhole slot that attaches it to the rest of the mount. It's NOT a snug fit, meaning that the phone and "grabber" section fall off frequently. A dollop of JB Weld fixed that, but it's not a basically "good" design from my perspective. Some sort of "snap" to the connection would be a fix. Guessing that the same mount and module are used on different versions of mounts, hence the modular design of the device2 - The "grabber" of the phone doesn't handle MY phone in its silicone case well, as the angle of the gripping fingers isn't adjustable. Not a failing of the mount, just with my phone in conjunction with the design of the mount.That being said, this mount has one of the best AC vent connections I've used. Nice to see metal in an application like this. A few minor modifications in the design would garner 5 stars.

It is actually a very cool gadget, provided it fits your car. It would not work in my Edge as there is a large display screen under the air vents so it would have to rest on that screen making it kind of unreadable. My son has a 2005 Pontiac with the round air vents and the design of the flow plates would not support this either.The company sent me a nice email a few days after I received it to ask how I liked it but I guess it was an auto-generated email since they never replied when I told them it would not work on the first two cars I tried.
