Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Golf Ball

We bought the golf ball shaped ball and our beagle loves it. She is an aggressive chewer and has given this ball a thorough run for the money in the last week. She loves chewing this ball and flattening it, and it pops right back into shape. It's a very durable material for sure and has made it through our intense testing period without any rips, tears, or teeth marks. Our beagle gives it a 2 paws up. (The only reason I gave it a 4 on longevity rating is that we have only had it a week, but how it has upheld its integrity after getting a lot of abuse this week, I can assume we will have it a long time.)

Our 2 Jack Russell terriers LOVE this ball. They love the bouncieness, they way they can squish it in their mouth. They roll it across the couch and push it up the sides so it will roll off and bounce so they can chase it. (Yes, we let them on the furniture.)It’s just the right size for them. They eventually split the ball near the holes but they don’t shred to pieces. We let them keep it until the split is too big. Our dogs are VERY hard on their toys so having these last a couple of weeks is a miracle. My ratings are based on how quickly other toys are destroyed and doggie popularity. It’s 5 stars from our house.Ps We buy several at a time so they always have a ball for play. We also purchased the Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Diamond Plate Ball – Nearly Indestructible Chew-Fetch Ball - Tough and Durable Dog Toys for Chasing, Retrieving and Training - 3-Inch Dog Ball. They also like this one but it’s not as popular. It’s a little to big for our female and it’s not squishable. It lasts longer because it’s not as popular.

I have a Parson Russell/Vizla mix who loves toys but loves destroying toys even more. She tears up most toys in a day or less. This toy is holding up. It has no damage after quite a bit of play over a few weeks. She likes to just hold it in her mouth and sort of chew it like a person chewing gum. It's such a unique consistency in that it is soft but tough to tear up. It bounces nicely and is easy for dogs to catch. My other dog doesn't love it quite as much, but he really likes the glow in the dark Orbee ball which is also tough but soft although pricier. The mint smell of the balls is nice for me when handling the toys. I ordered more because this ball is easy to lose around the house, and I need to have toys handy to keep these dogs happy. This is tougher than any other ball I have been able to find at the pet store. Or maybe something about the consistency just doesn't trigger the urge in them to tear it up and they prefer to play with it. Either way, it's a good toy. It's great for fetch/catch, and it's good for chewing on too.

Ball is as expected. Only disappointed that the planet dog text isn't black on the golf ball like the picture shows.

My dog absolutely loves this golf ball. It has a nice bounce to it as well, so lots of fun to be had when playing "go get it."

My dog loves the Orbee Tuff Golf Ball. The ball is soft but very resistant. We have been playing every day for about two years and the ball is like new. Also the size fits perfectly for my Westy mix.

My dog sat by the amazon box whining, waiting for me to get home. He is like a drug dog when it comes to these minty balls. I eventually gave him the box, which after a little time he chewed open. He goes everywhere with this ball. The first one we ordered is about a year old and still in great shape but the smell does fade. It is Very soft and we haven't broken any thing in the house yet, even though my wife throws like a girl and has hit everything from the tv to the windows. I do wish it was slightly bigger, but worry Portcall's head would explode if it was an better.

Our dog is a 2 year old male Catahoula Leopard (he looks like a mix of pitbull and boxer). So far, we spent over a 1000.00$ on toys for him. He is the most adorable, affectionate and playful dog, however, he is a heavy heavy heavy chewer. With him all indestructible toys are destructible within 5 minutes. This golf ball is great, it's bouncy and our dog can chew it all day and the ball still looks new. I absolutely recommend this ball.

Da einer unserer Hunde an einem Gebisstumor verstorben ist, bin ich seitdem sehr kritisch, was Hundespielzeug betrifft (und Futter, aber das ist eine andere Bewertung). Egal, ob Bälle, Seile oder Plüschtiere, eigentlich sollte Hundespielzeug die gleichen Vorgaben zur Ungiftigkeit erfüllen, wie Spielzeug für kleine Kinder. Sobald was im Mund landet, sollten keine giftigen Stoffe drin sein.Leider sieht die Wirklichkeit anders aus: für Hundespielzeug gibt es überhaupt keine gesetzlichen Vorgaben, gar nichts.Sowohl die Ökotest als auch eine Schweizer Konsumentenzeitung haben deshalb schon vor Jahren Hundespielzeug untersucht. Die Ergebnisse waren schlicht grauenerregend: jede Menge giftige Stoffe, von Weichmachern über polyaromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe(PAKs), Farbstoffe, etc, vieles davon stark krebserregend.Selbst die ganz normalen Tennisbälle sind für Hunde nicht gut, weil der gelbe Kunststofffilz die Zähne angreift (abgesehen davon, dass so gut wie alle Tennisbälle ebenfalls giftige Stoffe enthalten).Mit meinem jetzigen Hund wollte ich also sicher gehen und garantiert ungiftiges Spielzeug kaufen. Leider sieht es diesbzgl. im deutschen Tierbedarfshandel mau aus. Ein paar Spielsachen aus harmlosen thermoplastischem Kunststoff von Hunter und Karlie, das wars. Von beiden Herstellern sind die erhältlichen Spielzeuge aber nur für grosse Hunde geeignet, mein kleiner Terrier bekommt deren Bälle gar nicht ins Maul.Also im Internet nachgesehen und zwei Hersteller gefunden, leider beide aus den USA: West Paw und eben Planet Dog. Beide werben damit, dass ihr Spielzeug ungiftig ist und haben auch Spielzeug für kleine Hunde im Programm.Hier in Deutschland bekommt man nur eine kleine Auswahl, aber immerhin. Die Frisbee von West Paw ist schon ein ziemlicher Liebling meines Hundes, aber nichts und wirklich gar nichts kommt an den Planet Dog Golfball ran.Der Ball ist für kleine Hunde geeignet, da er recht elastisch und weich ist, und deshalb gut zu beissen, und auch eher klein. Ausserdem hohl und mit Leckerli befüllbar. Die Leckerlis braucht es aber gar nicht, weil die Bälle von Planet Dog einen leckeren Minzgeschmack haben.Neben dem Golfball habe ich noch den Earth Ball gekauft ( nicht so toll, weil sich Teile abkauen lassen), den Glow Ball ( super abends) und die Recycling Bälle ( diese werden leider nicht mehr verkauft).Alle Bälle zeichnen sich durch sehr hohe Bissfestigkeit aus, die Golfbälle halten aufgrund ihrer Beliebtheit nicht soo lange, aber selbst der Nachbarshund bekommt seinen Glow Ball nicht durchgekaut.Die Bälle springen vom Boden ab, nicht so toll wie die Chuck it Bälle, sind aber dafür anscheinend wirklich komplett harmlos. Ist der Minzgeschmack erstmal abgelutscht, riecht das Material nach nichts, was immer ein gutes Zeichen ist.Und apropos Nachbarshund: die neuen Bälle mit noch viel Minzgeschmack findet er super, und versucht immer, diese zu klauen. Und kaut dann stundenlang drauf rum, wie auf Kaugummi ( es hört sich dann auch so an wie bei einem Kaugummi-kauenden Teenager). Nimmt man ihm den Ball weg, ist er gar nicht begeistert.Fazit: langer Rede, kurzer Sinn sind die Bälle von Planet Dog eine absolute Empfehlung und ein Muss für alle Hundeliebhaber. Der Preis rechtfertigt sich, weil die Bälle sehr haltbar sind, im Wasser schwimmen und mit Leckerlies befüllt werden können. Das Besondere am Golfball ist die gut geeignete Grösse für kleinere Hunde, unsere Terrier-Dame nimmt ihren Lieblingsball sogar zum Schlafen mit. 5 minzige Sterne, mit einer extra Empfehlung vom Chef.

Another orbee tuff sensation in our house.Originally only bought 1 of these as an extra toy when replacing the 3 old orbee tuff strawberries we had.It proved such a hit that we had to buy two more, so they each had one to play with.One of the toughest yet softest toys we've ever seen and suits a mad chewing Labrador perfectly - he loves soft toys, but the others will chew things to ruin given half a chance - this gives us best of both worlds, he gets the softness whilst we get the ruggedness to cope with the other 2 trying to chew it to bits.Love it (rather - the dogs love it)Definitely one for a chewer.Paws Up from our dogs :0)
