Great tasting alternative to pinto beans :)
I like pinto beans, but I love Peruvian beans. They cook up larger and softer than pinto beans, and also taste a little milder. I add garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and salt while cooking and they end up very flavorful. I haven't been able to find these Peruvians in the store recently so I bought them here on Amazon. They're a little pricey but, actually, the cheapest here on Amazon right now, especially if you buy the 6pk of 2lb packages. El Mexicano sells the cleanest beans I've ever purchased, and that goes for these Peruvians, their pintos and lentils. They're so easy to sort through, I have yet to find debris/stones in them :) The seller (the manufacturer - Marquez Bros Int'l) did a great job of getting them to me quickly, I purchased them on 4/10/20 and received them today 4/13/20. So if you've never tried them, maybe now's the time! :)

Delicious and Fast!
My family discovered Peruano (Peruvian) beans for the first time while we lived in California. They are not as commonly found on grocery store shelves as other beans. When cooked, they have a creamy texture and flavor. Like other beans, Peruanos make a delicious 'gravy.' Generally, we add pork to make a comforting batch of ham and beans. These beans don't require soaking, and only take about 2 hours to cook thoroughly.

Delicious Beans
Purchased these after my coworker brought some in for a potluck a while back. These beans are absolutely delicious, not too heavy, easy to season and cook. You can soak them overnight or just let them cook on lower heat a little longer if you prefer not to soak them. Add your favorite seasonings and enjoy!

Most delicious beans
I had read an article about Tacu Tacu and I just had to try it after reading the description. I had never tried Peruvian beans but I wanted the dish to be as authentic as possible. These beans may now be my absolute favorite. My husband who usually shuns beans even loved them. They are creamy and delicious. Will definitely buy again.

Expensive, no texture and almost tasteless
Likes:These cook quickly with or without pre-soaking, and have an interesting color.Dislikes:I've cooked El Mexicano Peruvian Beans several ways and find them to be nearly tasteless and texture-free. The only way to make them palatable is over-salting.They cost more than twice the price of good-tasting Pinto Beans, Red beans, Black Beans or Lima Beans. Finally, despite the interesting moniker, El Mexicano Peruvian Beans do not appear to be from either Mexico or Peru.

Creamy Bean better than Pinto.
We can find anything on Amazon. Found these Peruanos after we used up the stash we hauled back home from California. Good stuff!

Delicious beans
I soaked these for several hours while at work and then simmered for an hour or so. Salt, a jalapeno and some garlic. Really, really good tasting beans. Probably overcooked them a little, but they simmered up into a thick broth with great texture and flavor to the beans. Definitely recommend them.
