Sweet sassy melassy your kid will love this book!
After reading Dragons Love Tacos 500x, I decided to give Secret Pizza Party a try and I’m so glad I did. My toddler adores this book. We read it morning, noon and night. It’s funny, age appropriate, and the illustrations are great.

Great Book!
Got this for my nephew because he is a fan of this author’s other books, but this one has definitely become his absolute favorite! We read it all the time and he has his favorite lines memorized. Fun short read with great art! Like other books by Rubin, it’s purely humorous and silly without much depth or lessons to be learned. Just a little guy who wants to eat pizza. Before buying the book I was worried about the other reviews that had concerns about the messaging, now I think that it’s totally overblown. Paraphrasing, but there’s a line that’s like, “secrets make things special,” but the examples in the book are totally innocuous: secret handshakes and hidden staircases. I think if you don’t want your kids to know about secrets, don’t buy them a book with secret literally in the title, or teach them difference between good and bad secrets.

Storyline
This book is cute, A raccoon trying desperately to get his favorite food, pizza. Yes, it talks about keeping the pizza party secret, so he doesn't get hit with a broom. Some reviews suggested not getting the book, but we discuss " secrets" and how children don't keep secrets from mom and dad for any reason.See the book for what it is, a story about a raccoon trying to get pizza. We also read books to discuss plot, setting and what they feel the story is about.

Cute but one thing
It is a very cute book except the part about “when you make something secret, you make it special”. That parts gives me the ick. I debated returning the book altogether but instead I covered that line with white out. It is a cute book with the exception of that line. Telling a child that secrets make something special is borderline grooming behavior. I do not want my toddler to believe that secret keeping makes something more special. I’m sure it was written with good intentions but in these times parents have to be cautious. Has I read other reviews first then I probably would not have brought it at all because of that line. Otherwise it is a very funny book and my toddler really enjoyed it.

As a fan of Dragon's Love Tacos it was just as funny and original as I hoped. My kids love these stories and constantly request a read.

Déçue
Immense fan des Dragons love Tacos, j’ai acheté ce livre mais l’histoire tombe complètement à plat. C’est bien raconté mais à la fin on se demande vraiment s’il ne manque pas quelques pages… dommage.

Pizza Partay
What could be better than a raccoon wanting to have pizza and the MAN being against it? Can't go wrong with an Adam Rubin book, dragons and tacos, robots, hitting balls out of the park!
