Case quality
It's Case quality. Replaces old one that got really small from sharpening.

Memories evoked
Approximately a year ago, my husband had seen a Case pocket knife in a local store and told me how his granddad would always carry one. He never told me the color or how many blades. After many days of searching for a Case knife I thought would be perfect as a Christmas present for him this year, I decided on this knife. The surprise he had was worth it. He took photos and texted them to his brother. He then told me this was the exact knife his grandad would carry. He loves the style, the weight, the sharpness of the blades. He said it's perfect. And THAT is the best review of all.

Almost perfect, just as I remembered.
This knife is very nostalgic for me. My grandfather had one just like it. Fit and finish are essentially perfect, as expected from Case. The Delrin side scales are so nostalgic, and, yes, beautiful. Other company's delrin knives are cheap looking, but not the classic Case knives. The sheepsfoot blade is perfect for whittling and the clip point blade is the most generally useful, making a good paring, poking and slicing blade. The spey blade is a bit anachronistic, originally intended for castrating calves out on the range, which I did one time with my grandfather. It would be a good skinning blade for small game, like squirrels. The surgical stainless steel has taken an edge very well. I was a bit concerned about no lock out blades, but the action is very secure without being difficult. It hasn't been a problem. I wouldn't carry this knife into a street fight. It's a working man's knife. At first I was reluctant to carry it, it looked so beautiful. I didn't want it to get any pocket wear. Finally I broke down and put it in my pocket. I love it. I only wish I had bought the large size. This one would get five stars, but it is just a little small for my hand.Update #1: Everything I said about this knife is still true. It works great, it looks beautiful, it keeps a sharp edge. I find I use the clip point blade the most and the sheepsfoot blade next and almost never use the spey blade. Not being a lockout has not been a problem. I still wish I had bought the larger size, but I can't find the large size in stainless.

Five ... again!
Five, again, as always!I have 14 Case stockman, and wanted this to fill out the collection. Nearly all of them get carried and used on a sort of rotating basis. This one, like all of the "working man's" ones, does not have exotic, organic scales. What this model lacks in showoff elements it more than makes up in smooth, perfectly-fitted, classically-simple, elegant, and razor-sharp Case sxecution. This knife has the sleek, unadorned feel of a straight razor. It has a distinct, all-American, "plain-is-purdy" look and feel. The smooth, pale yellow scales and perfectly-fitted logo shield are absolutely lovely in their understatement. It's a "user's" knife. It's hard to completely explain all of this. Put this next to the stag, butter-rum, buffalo, and bone handle models, and it's got its own beauty.I'm goofy on the topic of Case knives, in particular the medium stockman pattern. If you even remotely share the obsession, if you just plain love and appreciate and use these tools ... add this to your collection, and pocket ... and your grand-kids'.
