Pocketalk Classic Language Translator Device - Portable Two-Way Voice Interpreter - 82 Language Smart Translations in Real Time (Gold)

It has the capability to translate and did a handful of times but I would not recommend it. We were in a major South American city, this device was connected both the built in network service and private wifi network connect on multiple occasions together and seperate in which both situations this device continued to drop the ball. Although not too difficult to figure out set up and function, it was extreme frustrating and time consuming to use. I will we returning this item asap. Do not recommend. Note that we did process multiple required up dates. We did everything possible short of buying a SIM card and data service, which was not possible in the country we were in because they require you to have local identification to be eligible to purchase/obtain a SIM card and serive. Also was charged fully on first charge but still provided a very short battery life even on minimal use days. Not worth the heavy price tag. We had extremely better results with the free google translate app. and its ability to download dictionaries to continue to provide translation services while out of service or offline with my smart phone. My entire family ended up downloading that app with seamless automatic conversation translation. Don't wasnt your time or money.

I found the translator a bit difficult to use. I purchased the item to take with me to Japan. Luckily, many people in Japan have some knowledge of the English language so we were able to communicate quite well. When I tried to use the translator, it often had run out of battery power. The write-ups on the item were very favorable but it didn't work out for me. If I travel international again, I will try to practice with the translator BEFORE leaving home!

For my Korean parents they love having it and learning new words and help them communicate better to their grand kids

One of the main reasons I got it was because it has Romanian which is where my in-laws are but I will travel to multiple countries in Europe and want to stay away from the major cities and tourist areas. That means that there are less people that speak English. I tested the pocketalk with Spanish, Romanian, French and the few words I know in Turkish. IT WORKED PERFECTLY EVERY TIME. I so happy with this that I will buy two more to send as gifts for Christmas. It's small and seems to belong in your pocket. The screen is touch sensitive and very smooth. You can connect via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, pocketalk sim or another sim. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS. get it for yourself or as a gift. You will not be disappointed.

The Pockettalk was purchased to translate from theEnglish language to the Russian language.Amazing, fluid, fun.As a separate tool,not having to use an app, it was easy to navigate and translate for all of the important occurrences of essential cross communication.I love it.Thank you.

I BOUGHT THIS TRANSLATOR AND WASN'T EXPECTING MUCH BUT IT SURPRISED ME. BOUGHT IT FOR WORK AND QUICKLY FOUND MANY USES BECAUSE OF HOW SIMPLE IT IS TO USE. LET OUR MEDICAL DEPARTMENT USE IT AND THEY KEPT IT. I WILL BE ORDERING MORE FOR WORK. IT WAS EVEN ABLE TO TRANSLATE WHEN I HELD IT UP TO THE PHONE FOR A MESSAGE. IF YOU NEED A CONVENIENT WAY TO TRANSLATE THIS IS IT!!

I purchased a Pocketalk (along with their lanyard and a protective case that are pretty slick) based on an article I read about travel essentials. I recently brought my Pocketalk to Europe for an extended trip, and the device worked flawlessly. I didn't even have to search for WiFi when I landed in Europe because Pocketalk included two years of data and free software updates. Whether I was speaking to the concierge at my hotel, trying to order food, traveling in various taxi's or speaking with my business customers, Pocketalk made everything easier. I couldn't recommend this device enough, and I've been telling everyone I know about it. Wow.

I liked the quick response when converting from one language to another. There was hardly any pause at all.
