My 3 year old daughter loves Meerkat Mail and Meerkat Christmas is fun too.

With The Jolly Postman being one of my all-time favourite books as a child and being a huge fan of Christmas, Meerkat Christmas was perfect to share with my children.What I loved about this book, was that it explored all the different ways to celebrate Christmas around the globe but ultimately gave you that warm, Christmassy glow with its beautiful message, that no matter where you are, and how you celebrate the day, it’s being with the people you love that makes it so special.Emily has created such rich and contrasting Christmas scenes in this book. If you’ve ever wondered what Christmas mini ght be like in the Kalahari then here is a sneaky peek at how one family of meerkats celebrate.One particular meerkat, Sunny, is keen to have a perfect traditional Christmas but things are not that easy when there’s not a fir tree or snowflake in sight.  He sets off on a global adventure and finds fireworks, robins, Christmas trees and even snow but none of the places he journeys fill him with the Christmas spirit he’s yearning for.  And then he realises that the most important part of the perfect Christmas is…… you’ll have to read it to find out!This is a heart-warming, joyful Christmas story that made me smile.  I love the illustrations, they are the sort of pictures that new things will pop out of each time you look at them.  There are also clever lift-the-flap surprises that make this a hands-on book for a reader of any age or capability to enjoy.

I absolutely adore, ‘Meerkat Mail,’ so I was thrilled to discover that Sunny and his family are back in a brand new adventure for Christmas. When Sunny reads a magazine all about the perfect Christmas, he decides the desert fails to tick hardly any of the essential boxes. Leaving his family behind he travels all over the globe desperately hoping to find somewhere Christmassy enough but nothing is quite right. Some places are too hot, others are too cold and some are downright too soggy. Even when he finds a place that should be just right, he know something is missing. Can he discover the true meaning of Christmas before it’s too late? Featuring stunning illustrations and a gorgeous selection of cards to discover and enjoy, this is a wonderfully interactive read. Witty and warm in every way, it’s an absolute joy of a book.
