AtlasIED 8 inch Recessed Round Stacking Enclosure

Does not fit my 8” ceiling speakers because the speakers have clamps for drywall that do not fit inside the enclosure. Cannot return at local Amazon location, so not worth returning. Will modify each enclosure instead.

(I buy SOOOOoooo much on Amazon that I feel like I should start reviewing every single item I purchase. I am purchasing for two medical offices so a lot of my purchases are office tech and operations related...)Bottom-line: Buy.... But be warned the screw holes with the screw retaining tabs are flimsy. The tabs don't grip the screws tight. I have a feeling that the screws will one day fall out!

Purchased for use in a sheetrock ceiling but it's really made for a drop ceiling. Product is a quality product, however.

I have 8 of these for 8 inch ceiling mounted speakers. If your speakers mount to the ceiling drywall with rotational fasteners, as mine do; be prepared to modify them. There is not enough space for the fasteners to rotate in the enclosure. The speaker fasteners will not fasten the enclosure to the drywall; I used silicon sealant to prevent any vibration. Once installed they do a great job of keeping the insulation from contacting the speakers, which is what I wanted. I also used them for six inch speakers without any modifications, just run your wire and silicon the enclosure to the ceiling. You will need some decent metal working tools, metal cutting saw. I was pleasantly surprised with product it is solid and worked well for me with a little extra labor.

I had to modify this to make it work with Polk Audio speakers. My fault I should have read more before I purchased it. But they work great and keep the blown insulation off the back of my speakers.!!

Nice speaker enclosure. Ended up RTV the enclosure to the dry wall cause the darn clip nuts didn't line up right. No big deal, but it made the installation a little more complicated. Arrived in good shape and seems like a good price.

Product was heavier than expected but works great

This works well. I recommend buying the cans and the bridges from the same manufacturer. I had to modify the bridge a bit to make it work.
