The color in the picture looks like a nice deep pinkish red color, but in person it is more of a mauve color . The color is too old looking for a 4 year old. The dress is cute and made well. i do wish the flower was attached but instead is pinned on and I am uncomfortable putting a pin on a child. I did sew on the flower so it would be permanent. It's a nice dress to wear for a special occasion, church, or something of that sort, but wouldn't just wear it on a regular basis. The material was a bit itchy so we added a childs slip underneath so it didn't bother her.
