Beautiful!
Loved this book! The unorthodox main character...with many weaknesses but trying hard. Loved the warmth of the community it described. (Wished I could be part of it!). And loved the plot! (In essence, her parents are suggesting she marry a very Islamic character, who does come over as a bit dry.... You do spot a much more suitable brother on the fringes... but who will she choose? Read it to find out!) Stayed with me for a long time after reading.Would love more books off this author, as this is exactly what our Muslim youth need!

ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THIS!
I liked the urban feel of this book. It reminded me of my childhood/teenage days. I could imagine being in this urban-space. The issues in this book was real and I think anyone could read this- Muslim or not. As a Muslim, I felt connected to it because of the common terminology and scenarios that were being spoken about. I saw alot of character-development in the novel. I think this is a great read for anyone with spare time and wanting to enjoy a laugh or two.

Is there a sequel, PRETTY PLEASE?
Let me start off by saying I don't read fiction. I don't stay up past 10 pm on most nights either. Well, I stayed up past 1:30AM to finish this book!!! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! I slept with the book, traveled with the book, kept a night light just to read the book. This story is sure to plant a smile and some laughs! Beautifully told and expertly weaved, The Size of A Mustard Seed will not disappoint. Featured are characters from all walks of life, the likes of which you've probably already met in your real life. This is a story of being a Muslim in the city, in America here and now: the struggles, the joys, the sorrows, the complexities. It's very realistic, and hard to believe that it's a fictional account! The characters are well-rounded, complex, and multicultural. You'll find yourself, you'll find someone else, you'll find yourself returning again and again to read this book! Get it or you're missing out! If I say much more, I will say too much! Once you've read it, you'll want more and want to read it again!! A GREAT READ! Truly a gem and that praise doesn't come easily or lightly either. As I said before, I don't read fiction and it's precisely because I couldn't find the quality I wanted. But now, there is nothing to fret, The Size of a Mustard Seed has been found. And it's now my FAVORITE fiction book.

A good read
I was very excited to find Islamic fiction. The book was good and I did enjoy it but for me it wasn't the page turner that it was for others. I also know that the setting was supposed to be the inner-city and don't expect the characters to speak in perfect grammar but still I found the way the characters talked really distracting and annoying. It felt very unnatural to me but perhaps it is because I'm just not used to it in the books I usually read. Some of the terminology seemed really outdated. Do people still say "fly" and "home girl" or "homie"? I still hope to see more of these books in the future though.

Wonderful Read!
I'm an avid reader and a Muslim. I've been waiting for so long for good fiction directed towards Muslims and I'm so happy to see that there are now some available. I agree with what everyone else had to say. This book was soo good and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. I loved the character Jameelah. She was funny and real and you feel for her during her dilemma. All of the other characters were realistic and likeable as well.It made me wish there was place like Covered Pearls here in NY. I can't wait for more of this author's novels.
