Exactly as ordered
This is a dvd I've been looking for a long time--delighted to find a copy and to have it play flawlessly, even though pre-owned, is a total plus. This workout dates back to when Anna and Cynthia Benson co founded the FIRM gym in SC. Their workouts are still the best out there, almost 40 years later. To me, they are the Les Mills and Pilates of late 20th century.

Love this workout, why don't they produce it anymore??!
Have been using FIRM since the 1990's, and I especially love the Tortoise / Hare series. Sadly, over time my copy of the Hare no longer plays right, and is essentially unusable.I went to purchase another copy, and am so upset because it seems that the FIRM no longer produces this DVD!Say it isn't so!Come on, FIRM, do right by your fans and loyal users. Bring back this title.

Too dancy...
I'm a HUGE fan of the original 6 Firm workouts but this one was not my "cup of tea". To me it was a weak workout. Not great cardio, silly confusing dance steps & not that much weight work. I wanted to like it.....:(

Slower paced challenging workout, perfect for older adults
First, let me say I am a dedicated Firm Believer. I started using these workouts back in the 80's when they first came out. I was a poor graduate student in my 20's but I was willing to pay $50 for The Firm workouts. As they say, they deliver results in 10 workouts or less. They are just spectacular. I love the beautiful, mansion-style setting, the music, and the instructors. The workouts are a little over an hour long, challenging, but not boring. I am now in my 50's, and Volumes 1 and 2 are a little too challenging, but now the Tortoise and the Hare are perfect for me. Both the Tortoise and the Hare are challenging, but they are slower paced. I always feel like I got a good workout, but I am not in pain the next day. I have done hard workouts like Catherine Friedrich but even though her workouts are hard, they don't deliver results like the Firm does. No workout gets results like the Firm. If you are older but still want a good workout that lifts your butt and melts fat without killing you, this is the workout for you!

Been a FIRM user since 1995
This tape is supposed to be used as a cross trainer with the other tape called "Tortoise" (it can be used alone as well). The Tortoise is similar to this one (ball room type step aerobics mixed with heavy weight work). THIS tape is light 4 limb aerobics mixed with ball room type step aerobics followed by floor work ,working the hips thighs and abs (there is also a "firm parts" tape called "hips, thighs and abs" by the same instructor (Tracie) taken from the floor exercise portion of this tape. I have used this one along with its partner tape (Tortoise) since the late 90s and it never gets old (maybe the music and dated clothes but never the workout). This one is easy to follow but some might feel the ballroom step aerobics are complicated. My advice- if just starting this workout dont use any step and just do the aerobics on the floor or only use a 4 inch aerobics step to begin. I never use higher than 6 inches for the ballroom steps anyways and in the workout i assume she is onky using a 4 or 6 inch step in the video as well. But this workout is not meant for a heavy weight workout. Its more of a "light cardio/light toning" workout. The heavier weighted workout would be the sister workout of this to pair up with called the "Tortoise" . Both are excellent workouts and stand the test of time.
