Explain the Cloud Like I'm 10

This is a very approachable book for a not approachable topic. I read the book in two days (and I’m not a big reader). But it goes fast and the author makes it fun. Definitely would recommend. I learned a lot!

Entering a career in tech sales, I wanted to learn more about the cloud fundamentals. This book accomplished that by explaining the meaning of it all in a simple yet efficient way. It was recommended to me, and now I recommend it to anyone with a similar objective.

I loved how simple and powerful the explanations are, supported by detailed easy to understand examples.

Author does an excellent job of breaking down basic concepts. If you're new to CC or may be a little fuzzy on some details this is a great investment.

I've been an educator for the past 5 years. Teaching has always been my passion, but about a year ago, I had a moment of realization that it was time for a change in my career path. I made the bold decision to pursue a graduate program in cloud computing this summer, and I have to admit, I had my doubts along the way. That's when I turned to Amazon, searching for a resource to understand the cloud. Thankfully, this book came highly recommended, and man, am I grateful for those reviews. Very easy to read. Very enjoyable to read. A book that lives up to its title rather than being a marketing tactic. I’ve already recommended this book to others. After reading this book, it’s much easier to keep up with anything/anyone who speaks about the cloud. As cheesy as it sounds, the author and his way of explaining things, at least for me, really did ‘part the clouds’ on this subject. Not sure if you should but it?…read the sample provided by kindle. If you like the sample, you’ll love the book. My advice…buy it.

I’m a girl trying to dip my feet into the tech world to transition to a new career. I’ve taken an AWS cert course but the base terms were flying over my head incessantly. This book really gave me a great foundation to go back and study with the knowledge and true understanding of key terms like servers, virtual machines, containers, ISP, and so much more! And how the cloud works- this book paints clear imagery so you can REALLY picture it! A great read too. Thank you!-Abby

With advancing age, my memory shortens, - have spoken 10 languages in the past (7 self-taught), but learning is becoming more challenging. But this book made the cloud very easy to understand and appreciate. While the beginning was very easy, the later sections did offer a bit more difficulty. So now, having just finished the first reading, I begin the second with highlighting (to facilitate later review). Much as i have enjoyed Dummies books in the past, I am glad that I started with this. I assign a letter grade to what I read, and this is clearly an "A". My thanks to Todd Hoff.

I never knew what a “Cloud” was until reading this book, I highly recommend this for anyone that is curious about gaining some insight on Cloud but this is also wonderful start for those looking to pursue a career in Cloud related work!

O livro é tão bem escrito e sobre um assunto tão interessante, que minha única sugestão é que haja uma continuação dele, ou que haja uma lista de leituras recomendadas pelo autor para seguir aprofundando no assunto.

What I liked most about this book is all the cloud concepts are explained in a very easy way with lot of diagrams and analogies.Must read for anyone wondering what is cloud.

Would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone hoping to get their heads around Cloud matters - a basic must-have. I’m switching careers and really glad I read it.

Me encantó este libro, en especial el capítulo sobre Netflix. Es asombroso como problemas tan complejos pueden resultar de aplicaciones aparentemente simples. Ahora entiendo más sobre arquitecturas en la nube y como funciona. :)
