Paul Oakenfold's 2001 album of Goa trance remixes has been transformed into a multidimensional experience. (The liner notes define "Goa trance" as "a fusion of acid trance and tribal beats.") Ten London-based musicians, including Man With No Name and the Infinity Project, provide the pulsating soundtrack, while artist Yo Suzuki provides the 3-D visuals (don't worry--glasses are included). Over the course of 12 selections, vibrant abstract shapes "dance" to the beat as sampled voices occasionally jump into the fray. That's about it. If you were fascinated by kaleidoscopes as a child, laser shows as a teen, and 2001: A Space Odyssey as an adult, this DVD is for you. While there is little (obvious) variation between tracks, trance isn't about jarring juxtapositions and A Voyage Into Trance is one smooth audiovisual ride. --Kathleen C. Stunning visuals with Oakenfold's vibes
As I was loaned a copy, set down and adjusted the 3D glasses, and saying, "Oh, Brother, done this before.",I was ready to be disappointed. However, who-ever did the visuals has to be commended. NICE JOB!Yes, about 90% of the 3D visuals work, and there's some repetition (as in the trance music itself (duh)). But there are some parts that will have you laughing and/or saying to yourself, "That's the way 3D is supposed to be".The music breaks no new ground, as it is "old" Oakenfold, but the music combined with the fun 3D is worth the novelty of the disc. Hear it on a 5.1 system, and as usual the music effects are/ sounds great! In fact, as I write this, I'm buying my own copy, and sending one to a friend. Just for fun. When was the last time YOU had fun listening to a DVD music disc?

Not About Meditation or Trance
Meditation and trance are about slow visuals that have a single focal point and slow music. This is strictly rave party stuff. The music is techno pop which is anything but relaxing and the visuals jerk your eyes all over the screen. I found this dvd to be tolerable only when I turned the sound off and substituted some ambient music and then slowed the visuals down to at least half speed. If you are still curious get the cheapest one.

Cool psychedelic visuals by VJ Love Mushroom
Classic Goa trance DJ mix by Paul Oakenfold, originally released from Dragonfly Records in 1995. Cool psychedelic visuals by VJ Love Mushroom. The DVD comes with 3D glasses! Great tracks by Hallucinogen, Total Eclipse, Man With No Name & The Infinity Project remixed in 5.1 surround sound.

Very Cool Stuff
It's a very cool and relaxing video, something when you wish to lay down and unplug for some time, the 3D goggles really make it super.

I voyage very often
What's funny is that people are going to rate the music, and be harsh because they have heard one or 20 better tracks out there. Granted Oakenfold isn't the best techno on the planet, especially when new songs are soon forgotten replaced by something better.. you have to admit some of us are pretty harsh in trying to judge music in general. With that being said, if anyone has ever wanted to space out and watch tv, this DVD is completely great for that. Turn out all the lights, pop on the Home Theatre system or better yet get some noise cancelling headphones, and watch this. I haven't seen anything else like it and after purchasing this a lot of my friends were amazed and bought their own copies. The Chromadepth glasses are beyond your basic 3-D technology, in fact you can make it look interesting too if you add your own light bending 3-D glasses to the Chromadepth glasses included with this DVD. If you are inebriated in any way, not that I condone that lol, it brings this to a whole new level. Maybe it won't be like your typical rave, but just something fun to do at home from time to time. If you hate the music, play your own and mute this (Tool works well), but the combination of techno and the 3-D graphics is very smooth and easing to the mind.

Some Good, Some Not So Good....
Oakenfold rules the treance/techno scene. That's a given. He's nowhere to be found on this DVD though. It is just his album, basically, with a light and laser show. You could get the same effect playing the CD on your computer and watching the show that Windows Player shows. This is just for true fans who rewally feel the need to collect everything with Oakenfold's name on it. Good addition to the collection, though.

I disagree with the opinion this is for hardcore fans only
It's not very often a good recording like Voyage Into Trance comes along. Oakenfold recorded this disc some 10 years ago and has gone back and remastered it.This is not new.The reason you would want to own this, however, is because you get some very cool trance tracks mastered into Dolby Digital 5.1If you have a home theatrte system and you love trance - this is the DVD for you.Oh and if you like this pick up Underworld - Everything, Everything as well.
